I haven't seen the series (well at least not much of it, I've seen a few episodes here and there), but I wouldn't give the movie anything less then a 7/10, and it was definitely worth seeing it in 3d when it came out (the 3d movies I've seen are very close in quality, but this still probably had the first or second best effects I've seen in a 3d film). I only saw it by chance, I had no plans to see it, but through a series of circumstances wound up going with some people I knew, and I'm glad I did.
