If you get in a console for a trade in what sort of checks are done on it to ensure its in working order?
If I could get a broken console to work for a short period would that stand through their testing? Also do you ever contact Sony looking for the serial numbers fault history or anything like that?
And once the deal is complete presumably whatever happens to the console after that is on gamestop?

I've never done this, and if they try just tell them you don't give out your phone number or email address.

I'm just wondering if theres some sort of contractual agreement that to the sellers knowledge the console is in prime working condition. I have logged calls with Sony that would be solid evidence against me for this if they did go through background checks. If its a simple backroom playtest it should be ok, if its nothing at all even better. I have all the leads and stuff.

The last system I traded to GameStop was a Gamecube. The guy asked me if it worked and I said last time I checked it did. He had me sign on their little card reader thing and gave me my GameStop credit on my rewards card thing.

In front of the person selling it? What happens if it works during that test and the first person you sell it to brings it back a day later complaining the insides are held together by tape?
