It's a run-on sentence, yes. That makes it more difficult to read, yes.

But if it's that hard to understand that "DLC is like paying extra to see bonus scenes in a movie," then I don't know what you can understand, bro. I guess popcorn is nice and easy and something you can understand. But just because you can understand it doesn't mean it actually fits.

DLC is like being kicked by a Celestial Steed that's worth more than both the game it's from and its first expansion combined.

And just because you don't understand what the important parts of good analogies are doesn't mean you know how to make them.

Bonus scenes is a far, far better analogy because it's still a 'complete movie experience' without bonus scenes

It's not a complete movie experience without popcorn. I can't believe this topic, you guys are monsters for thinking it's extra

But I do know how to make them. I know how to make them really well. I'm like a god damn analogy wizard. When most people read my analogies, it's like they just stumbled into an IHOP one day and found out it's Free Flapjack Friday.

Well stumbling is a word I'd use when describing one of your analogies, yeah.

That's not really a meaningful analogy, though, it's practically the same thing as DLC.

"DLC is like when you pay for extra content for a digital entertainment experience"

So then you agree my analogies are like free flapjacks.

Then what are you even arguing with me about? Sometimes I think you are just confrontational for the sake of being confrontational, honestly.

No I agree they're like stumbling into a building. The IHOP Free Flapjack Friday part is superfluous information that clouds the analogy, as I would expect from one of your analogies.

You call it clouding, I call it flavoring.

I guess we can't all have a taste for delicious analogies. Some of us need bland crap like popcorn.

But hey, to each his own.

It's like you buy a book.
And there are extra chapters written that flesh out the story a bit more, but aren't vital to the core story being told.

At first the extra chapters were normally sold some time after the book came out, you could buy just the extra chapters on there own, or buy a new copy of the book with the extra chapters already included.

Eventually the extra chapters come included day one with the original but they were written with a magic invisible ink curse, and the only way to make it visible was to pay the 5 dollar fee to lift the curse.

*In either case as long as you had the original book, you would only have to pay extra for the extra chapters.

Now, imagine you buy a book day one it comes out, they then get crafty and write a new copy of the book included a couple extra chapters, however there is no longer a way to get just the extra chapters, you have to purchase a whole new book just to get the extra chapters, even though since largely both the books are the exact same, you essentially have to pay twice if you were foolish enough to buy the original book.

*This is a problem because it discourages people from buying the original book, and instead wait for the extra chapter included book down the road (if its a 60$ book, you certainly dont want to have to pay twice for a couple more chapters). If people are discouraged from buying the original book, then the makers are discouraged from writing more chapters, and its a spinning cycle that eventually corrupts the literature world as we know it.
