considering this topic is coming from someone who gets offended when you ask him to back up a claim with a reliable source, I'm going to go out on a limb and assume he is purposefully misconstruing evidence here in other to further his own ends and betting on ignorance to triumph since most people are literally incapable of reading more than two sentences before making up their minds.

additionally I'm not saying that I agree with what this guy did or his reasons for doing so, but to sit here and speculate about some great conspiracy and make up reasons that intentionally sensationalize the situation with NO evidence to back up what you're saying when the person in question has already given a reason to explain his actions is inane

Because you failed to link me to an actual article I don't know the exact scenario, but I don't see any problem with saying "either disarm or leave"; Panetta has a right to speak only to unarmed people if he wants to, and the soldiers don't have an intrinsic right to be present at the speech. The only way this can be interpreted as wrong is if the marines were forced to be at the speech, which, again, I can't tell from the OP. Even if that was the case, I think you're exaggerating how big of a deal this is.

Last time I responded to a post you made, you misinterpreted the source to an incredible extent, accepting an interpretation that made almost no sense, AFTER I pointed out the clear flaw and gave a significantly more sensible interpretation. It took another post of me posting the exact same thing except with a loli saying "more, more. more!" for 10 seconds to convince otherwise. So yeah, I'm a bit critical. I also work on the assumption that since, you know, you DID post a source and a summary the last few times and you'd just continue to do if you had one because...

Whenever I post something about a recent event, unless it literally broke in the last hour, I assume there's no topic because no one gave a ****, so I DO try to lessen the workload that people have to do. (this also falls under the general principle programmers follow that no one should have to repeat work any non-trivial work you've done) I typically either post it with a link to ars (where it'll have supporting links embedded right in there) or I'll post two or three sources myself.

Which actually reminds me, I need to do that for Bill C-11 now that it's past committee. Sigh. DMCA, such flawed legislation. Why someone would ever model something after it and not fix the obvious flaws is beyond me.

Literally the ONLY thing I get out of clicks is a very small sense of satisfaction that I am getting my message out.
