For those of you just joining us, my nuzlocke ended after I lost handily to N in Plasma Castle. I did some grinding, beat N down, then I had to deal with Ghestahl, just BARELY beat him down. Now I'm in the post-game.

While the nuzlocke is officially over, I'm continuing with a psudo-nuzlocke (One mon per area, no rez during battle) because I feel like it. I'll see if I can't dig up the name list after work today. I'm not sure what my goal is at this point.

I've just opened my file for the post-game (okay, it's really for the event Reishram, but anyway) and... There are two "Moms." What.

Oh, it's just Detective Looker. From Platinum? Huh. Seems he came to take down Team Plasma, but arrived just a little too late. Now he's trying to find Ghestahl's painters, and on Adler's advice, he's asking for my help. He gives me a Super Rod for my troubles, which is a nice upgrade to the Good Rod I got back in... erm, the Old Rod I received over in... um...

...Did I completely skip the fishing rods?

Mom: What does the Super Rod have to do with finding Ghestahl's painters?
Looker: Absolutely nothing!
Me/Mom: ...

Okay, I thought that was funny.

Oh, great, the ABC gang is back together. Bianca laments being unable to reach the Striaton gym in time (but she called up all the others... I'd say that's actually pretty good) while Cheren laments letting Ghestahl get away when the Do-Nothing Ninjas distracted him. *sigh*

Bianca mentions going to White Forest, which summons a wild Former Professor Juniper. FPJ decides now is a good a time as any to upgrade our dexs to National Mode. Nice.

Finally, Bianca and Cheren leave, letting me go to a pokemon center for Reshiram. Into the PC you go for the next few months!

So I figure for want of something to do, I'd start off just going to all the places I've been to before. See what I might have missed or simply couldn't get it.

Which brought me to Dreamyard. It seems somebody FINALLY removed the knee-high cone that was keeping people out before. Oh, and look, there's some prime fodder below, just waiting for me so I can have some free XPs.

...wait, why is that Drowzee at level 65?

...WAIT, THAT DROWZEE IS AT LEVEL 65!? What the bugger is going on here!?

So yeah, it looks like all the NPCs in this area have very high-level pokemon. Fortunately for me, those levels seem to be all they have going for them. Still, it does lead to a lot of back and forth between the basement and the pokecenter, until I make it to the other side, and find...

...one of Ghestahl's painters! He tries to bribe me with a TM before Looker follows in out of nowhere and arrests him. 1/6 painters arrested!

Next is Wellspring Cave off of Route 3... which is more annoying than anything. I find a trio of trainers with levels around 35 or so; I guess I could have come here sooner (just needed Surf).

As I'm heading back to Striaton to heal up, my dowsing machine picks up a ping in the water. I'll just dive in and...

...I never caught a pokemon in Striaton, did I?

...

...Fishing time!

So while wandering Castelia, I find some random guy in the Game Freak office who wants to challenge me. Should be a piece of cake.

(5 minutes later...)

All team members fainted! Altima hurried to the Pokemon Center to heal his team!

GOG that guy was way too strong. NEW GOAL: Defeat Game Freak.

I'll be back here eventually...

I recall someone telling me there's something new inside Relic Castle, so I make my way in... running into Current Professor Juniper as I enter. It seems the weird statues are actually sleeping pokemon or somesuch, and gives me a RageCandyBar. What is is with spaces being in such short supply? Anyhow, it's supposed to wake them up.... but since I already got Murphiroth here, I'll pass for now.

Inside, I make my way to the bottom as best as I can, and wind up in the large room from before. There's a door here I'm pretty sure wasn't there the last time I dropped in. Inside is... a Plasma grunt! Who runs away as soon as I enter. Let the chase commence.

I think I warned you about the high leveled pokes the trainers had.

Also Game Freak Guy isn't the only really dangerous foe to fight when you just beat the game. E4 is definitely out of your league, and watch out about entering random houses on the eastern town.

So I chased the Plasma Grunt and took him out... not too easily; he had a rather high level Krookodile. He laments how he failed to defend another one of Ghestahl's painters, so I jump right in, and...
...

it's a bloody maze. Or something; all these chambers look the bloody same.

*some time later*

GOG FINALLY FOUND YOU

And the painter gives up immediately, prompting Looker to storm in (is this guy secretly following my every move? That's... that's kinda creepy) and arrest him for bad, bad art. Two down, four to go.

"We don't even know if Ghestahl and N are really father and son!"

This is important?

In the next room is some sorta moth pokemon. Since OraclePram was already captured here some time ago, I'm not gonna capture it for myself The Legend-Moth has gotta go. I'm sure it'll be revived after my next encounter with the Pokemon League.

*5 minutes later*

Did anybody get the license plate for that bug? Ow...

Got kinda close to killing it... Maybe i can just try again.

*some time later...*

Bloody stupid maze. Found some sort of stairwell... we'll come back for this.

Oh yeah, I think I'll go ahead and save in front of the thing this time. Just... just in case.

*many reloads later...*

...gog that moth is tough... Gonna rest for now.

So, went up the stairwell I mentioned earlier and found the TM for Earthquake! Sweet!

Heading up north to Nimbasa, and I realize outside of the Pokemon Musical, I haven't really done anything here.

Went to the Battle Institute, got my rear and a novice rank handed to me. Sounds accurate enough.

Went into the Train Station... went on the one train that leads to another town, and there's nothing there. I'll get back to this one. Maybe.

Went into the Tennis Court... gog there's a lot of trainers here. This may take a while...

So I played a LOT of tennis and... football? buh? Odd effects aside, the football field actually looks decent -- it even has the full 100 yards. I, for one, am just a bit surprised by this; I don't think American football is all that big in Japan. Then again, if Inagaki and Murata can produce a manga revolving around it, I guess anything is possible.

After taking a time out after every play (my highest level is 53; the lowest opponent in the sports arena was like 64), I realized I really need to consider where my XP gains are going and who's going to be the most useful in a fight over the long-term. For that purpose, I selected a handful of mons I think do the best in complimenting each other type-wise. Here and now, I give you...

THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN!
Haguile (Serperior)
Queen Etna (Stoutland)
Great Paul (Scrafty)
XIII (Carracosta)
Emporer K (Golurk)
Del Tiempo (Larvesta -- didn't somebody say this thing evolves via level up?)
Death (Zekrom)

Also, as promised, here's the full roster thus far, roughly in the order captured:
Natwafaki (Simipour, HM mule)
todbot1 (Liepard)
Raka Putra (Watchog)
GrandKirby (Boldore)
FD (Duosion)
G.Saga (Palpitoad)
mdflubbin (Scolipede)
Murphiroth (Sigilyph)
OraclePram (Yamask)
PirateKing (Garbodor)
Suor Genov (Leavanny)
Mr.3790 (Ducklett)
G.Twilight (Mienfoo)
Some Chara (Deerling)
RappinHobo (Vanilluxe)
Mik Pick (Joltik)
JeffreyRaz (Zebstrika)
Ryo8889 (Litwick)
Pkalicious (Gurdurr)
Arti 2001 (Palpitoad)
Scepter (Shelmet)
Tsunami28 (Stunfisk)
BlackHydra (Minccino)
bospsycho (Bouffalant)
Ayvuir (Alomomola)
ctesjbuvf (Frillish)
PrinceKaro (Rufflet)
Azp2k32 (Goldeen)
I'll be rotating them in and out for a little extra XP

And here's everyone still waiting on a pokemon at this time:
Celtic Guardian 7
muddersmilk
catastrophy15
cody11533
mnkboy907
swordz9
Tsunbiribiri
NewerShadow
mccheyne

Excel files are awesome.

Oh yeah, I guess I forgot to mention; Professor Juniper tells me those statues outside the desert castle are Pokemon I can wake up with a Rage Candy Bar, and she gave me one just for that purpose. Since I've already captured a pokemon from this area, I'll get back to that later

I mention this because the Trailer Maid on Route 5 is asking for food, which pulled up the RCB when it opened up the item screen... Yeah, no. You're not getting this right now. How about, um... this lovely Balm Mushroom? (yuck!)

25000 pokedollars!? Dang, I gotta find more of these things!

Found Cheren on Route 5 outside the trailer; says he'll be at the Pokemon league if I want some practice. Good to know.

Nothing new on the Driftveil Drawbridge.

Another one of Ghestahl's painters was found hiding in the (insert unclean body part HERE) of Cold Storage. This one seems to be made of sterner stuff than the last guy who hid in here. At the very least, he's smart enough not to huddle around 8 people in METAL ARMOR.

Looker comes in and arrests him for being too chill. 3 down, 3 to go.

There are way too many towns with water that you can't actually fish in. I mean, I understand the barrier keeps me from surfing, but it's a fishing line! Unless it's like Skyarrow Bridge, i would think I could just drop my line into the water, but nope... Driftveil actually has a surfable (and thus fishable) water area, but it's still a little disappointing to see all these water areas that I can't fish in.

Driftveil City: CelticGrd7
Female Luvdisc, Lv55
Lax nature, Somewhat vain
Swift Swim

Hmm... are these things useful? Like, at all? Because it's currently my highest level pokemon...

Moving on to Route 6, I can finally surf around and get some of the hidden items that were bothering me before (okay, I could have done this a lot sooner, but anyway...). My surfing takes me into a cave mouth... and there is absolutely no light in here. Great, I have to go back to town to get a flasher. But first...

Mistralton Cave: mudders
Male Axew, Lv30
Docile nature, Strongly defiant
Mold Breaker

Cool, another dragon-type. Might be a little more awesome if he wasn't currently my lowest level pokemon, but what can ya do?

On an unrelated note, why is this the Mistralton cave? Driftveil seems a heck of a lot closer...

Anyway, back to town for my flasher.

So, this cave is actually kinda small -- or at least it feels like it. Maybe it's just that all the pokemon in here are at a much lower level, or something. It's pretty much a treasure expedition, and then I fight some sort of legendary pokemon. Some sort of gazelle-warrior thing. Which is still at a much lower level than my main group. I think I was supposed to come here much, much earlier, but oh well.

After defeating it, some old guy tells me that by demonstrating the power of friendship (or something), I've awakened two other legendary pokemon. Cool?

So yea, that was it. Moving onwards to Chargestone Cave.

Remember how I said this place was a pain with all the wild pokemon? It still is, but being several dozen levels higher than all the wild pokemon makes it a lot easier to bear.

I'll finish up Chargestone some time tomorrow.

Found another one of Ghestahl's painters in Chargestone Cave. He's being held hostage by two still-active members of Team Plasma, which I dispatch. Then Looker shows up and arrests all three of them -- the Team Plasma members for taking a hostage, and the painter for being taken hostage. Or something. Four down, two to go.

Other than that, nothing really goings on in Chargestone Cave. Or Mistralton City. Route 7, though, is under a heavy thunderstorm... which I think was mentioned some time ago, around the time I got the Legend badge. Doesn't seem to be bothering anybody, people or pokemon alike...

...except some crazy old lady about halfway through. I'm forced to endure a bit of her rambling, and I figure it's a good a time as any to set the game down for a bit.
