this the droid razr or the razr maxx? both over the 4s either way - better screen, size, and extras like an hdmi jack, front facing camera, and microsd card. just that the maxx is better.

for good reason! 4.3" screen is great, screen's made of better material, and you can do a lot more - both with the operating system and with the extra hardware and should get much better speeds - though if you're data capped that may not be a good thing as you'll run through it quicker. it's also ridiculously thin, though that might be a con depending who you ask. does however have better battery life, so hey. ain't really any field the 4s gets a notable win (dpi sure, but bigger and better screen > that any day)

the big issue the razr has is the fact that it got an upgraded version of itself 2 months later. they only had 1 real difference, but it was a notable one: battery. razr has a sizable one but on 4g it drains out hard like everything else does. maxx sealed the battery in and doubled it. damn thing ends up having a battery life where it can be on 4g and run a video for about 12 hours before croaking. both are fine models, but it's kinda crazy how they did that 2 months later and changed... nothing else.

would still see what other options there are honestly - 720p resolution phones are out there now if you go high end and you can still aim a bit lower and still end better than the 4s. variety's the game.

720p at that screen size probably won't make a difference at all, really. >_>

DAMN. I had no idea the battery life was that good. I've only had my phone for about 8 months now so I'm not ready to upgrade yet, but I'm excited as hell for the next Google phone from Motorola now. But I hope they bring back the fingerprint sensor they had on the Atrix... I honestly can't ever see myself using another phone without one.

yeah, 3300 goes a long, long way apparently. its talk time is placed at over 20 hours. 20 hours of talk time.
http://www.engadget.com/2012/01/31/motorola-droid-razr-maxx-review/

and you'd be surprised at the difference 720p can make on a cell. i'd be more agreeable at the 3.5" level that the 4s has, but as you get to 4.3+ it does start to be notable. mostly to do with how close you hold the phone than anything else.

battery life is on a road to improving though. not just solely on the size and power inside of them, but because quadcores are cheaper, better, and if done right, consume less energy (tegra 3 whoo).

That Razr looks massive. Maybe it's just me, but I'm used to phones that are smaller than my wallet.

it's a 4.3" screen. these days that's probably the most popular standard out there, overtaking 4" in short time though we'll probably see more of those in the future. it's a good size: nice real estate on the screen but not excessively large. perfectly fine to use 1 hand with it or 2 if you want, everything's read quite nicely, fits snugly, no problems all around. if you're familarity with phones comes from apple stuff then yeah it's gonna look huge - it's almost an inch bigger.

still smaller than the galaxy nexus, which is 4.65" (and as this is verizon what we're talking here might be worth to see what the price they're offering is) or the upcoming HTC One X which is 4.7". still, the nexus has a really, really good feel for itself, so that size will become popular soon too.

now if you want to talk big, galaxy note is huge. 5.3" screen and wide enough to the point where 1 hand stuff is near impossible. that's your phone which doubles as a mini tablet. but 4.3", not so much. phone that works its mini computer magic, same for 4.6.

Android is trash, garbage even. How everyone would choose any Android phone over the iPhone is beyond me. And no, I don't care why. It's just stupid.

Every time I bought a phone in the last bunch of years, I landed up always wishing it was an iPhone. Every time. Now I have an iPhone. And it's glorious.
