I know none of you know what this is, but you probably have something similar in your area. WMMR is a rock station in my area, and they do a vote-based tournament among 64 bands each year. Much the way B8 tracks the info from the GameFAQs tournaments, I've actually done the same with this tournament for several years now. Is it any surprise I eventually found my way to B8?
That site has been entirely maintained by me for the last three years. I'm hoping I can find somebody else who takes an interest so I don't have to do it all again. Or at least maybe I'll have somebody to talk about it with. So, discuss!
The hourly thing is, in some ways, more interesting. Basically, rather than being a slow build-up of tension, it's a lot more progressive and gets done in a week. Then again, it's obviously suited for people who listen to the radio all day. I can see how a GFaqs person might not like having that many matches that fast.
For someone in the area who can just pop on the radio in the car, though, it's fairly entertaining. You hear people phone voting and dissing the other band in the process as they do. The fact that the contest is very regular, the way a GameFAQs contest is, but that Link actually loses sometimes is very refreshing. And frankly, I know all the different bands better than I do most of the entries in a typical character battle.
Anyway, just hoping to drum up some support for an off-site tournament I enjoy each year.
this was probably the most uneventful college basketball regular season in recent memory for me. Aside from two great buzzer beaters I can't think of really anything special about the season, or any godly individual seasons.
Of course my favorite team (Pitt) being injured a ton and having no interior presence really made me annoyed at this season too.........
With that said, community is starting up again on thursday, and is a much more important tv event to me this week.
