Just last sunday wang decided he was going to ruin my day. He jumped out in front of me, shouted "I, WANGLICIOUS, AM DESTROYING YOUR DAY"

Final Fantasy sort of has a lack of "true furries" so I basically included anything with animal hair or forms.

1) Kimahri Ronso
Can we please get this guy back in already?
2) Shantotto
Shortage of these in the series. FFXI yes, but the appearance in Dissidia should help. Tiny cute character, sure to be popular here!
3) Cait Sith
Not very popular, but playable characters from popular games should always end up returning.
4) Ba'Gamnan
I guess this guy is really a "scaly" or whatever, but there you go.
5) Montblanc
Like I've said about this guy before, he's been a playable in one game and a somewhat major character in a main series game.

Notable mentions of Umaro (lol) and Nanaa Mihgo, who has been here before and is a mithra. However MMOs are not really that popular here, especially XI.

After Kimahri I can't see any of the things in that list getting out of the elimination rounds without the 'well it's a new thing i'll vote for the new thing' factor. Not a knock against the list itself, but really at this point if we're going to see new things I'd rather have people think about nominating things like the famous summons or from other FF games that don't have reps.

I mean, no offense, but when a list names the second-best choice as an FFXI character, you know it's not exactly strength.

For example, I love FFIV, but if I made a list and the 2nd strongest thing that applied to the category I could think of to bring into the contest was Rosa, I'd feel pretty damn worried about the criteria I'm working with.

Well she's less of a FFXI character and more of a Dissidia character. If Cloud of Darkness can advance, why not Shantotto? I'm not sure how the scenario is different.

Mateus and CoD were put into this contest on the strength of Dissidia. Since both advanced beyond the initial booting rounds, I don't think it's too farfetched to believe Shantotto could as well.

But yeah, my lists are themed and obviously will contain a lot of would be fodder. But I do it so I can include a lot of different characters we may never see in this contest, and to hopefully give people good ideas about what to nominate next time.

This does beg the question...do Bahamut/Ifrit/etc. count as separate for each game since they're differently represented in some of them?

Note that even if they are, anyone who nominates multiple Bahamuts at once can go die.

Pretty sure they do, yeah. I would argue they'd have to because they are clearly different characters in many of the games. I believe when nominated at all this past time, FFD tallied them separately from game to game.

Gilgamesh is clearly the same character in each of his appearances and carries himself that way (and Square presents it that way). A good example of a character being different is something like Odin; clearly different in a game like FF8 from others. FFX presents summons in the way of them being fayths, again that's a thing that doesn't exist in other titles and makes them all unique characters.

Also keep in mind FFD enacted a "speech" rule on nominations, meaning that to qualify as a character the entity must actually have speaking lines. I don't necessarily agree with that 100%, but in practice it keeps out a lot of things I wouldn't want in here.
