Board 8 > Pathfinder one-shot interest topic

Hi everyone, I've been considering running a simple Pathfinder module and just wondering whether some fine board 8 folks would like to participate. Pathfinder is something like D&D, a bit "between" 3.5 and 4e so to speak. I'd probably host the game over AIM but we can work things out if needed, for now I'm just seeing who'd be interested.

Modules I'm considering are We Be Goblins! (a level 1 adventure where the PC's all use goblins, aw yeah) or Master of the Fallen Fortress (a level 1 adventure that's more centered around a dungeon crawl).

Whether you've played Pathfinder RPG before or are interested in participating but haven't played, feel free to post if you feel up for it. Any of the Pathfinder first party books are available for character generation, and if you lack any of the books I can still run by the character generation rules with people.

How does online d&d work exactly

you all get together for a few hours in an aim chatroom?

More or less. Anything beyond that is up to the DM. You CAN do more, but managing it is all on his end.

AIM, skype, anything works, just AIM is what people around B8 usually use. I tend to have everyone on for about 4-6 hours depending on how much time is available for one night a week.

Alright, since no one chose ninja like I thought they would, I ultimately decided on a rogue, since "skillmonkey" is the obvious hole in the party right now.

Well, the party already had the warrior, mage, and fifth man slots filled (samurai, alchemist, magus), so it seemed like the choice was rogue, bard, cleric, oracle, or druid, so I decided on like a duelist type of character. I'd have taken an archetype, too, but there were none that fit my concept. Also, I hadn't played a rogue type of character in literally years.

How many players are in on this, by the way? Four or five?

Actually, looking at the ninja class, it looks like it's almost completely superior to the rogue class because it can use rogue tricks and ninja tricks and rogues can only rogue tricks and ninja tricks that don't require ki.

The only downside I saw was that Ninja didn't get the boosts to trap sensing (Trapfinding, Trap Sense +X)

At low levels, the difference should be effectively nonexistent, and I like the fluff of a rogue better than the fluff of a ninja.

The only ninja trick that seems that much better than rogue tricks is the mirror image one. It's damn good, but I think I can live without it.

Backstory: He was given a choice: be exiled from elven lands or drop his incredibly disgusting pipe smoking that kept filling up every single room he entered with thick gray smoke. He's now an adventurer in human lands.

Hey, so I've been thinking. I'm already involved in multiple B8 D&D games, and while this does interest me, there are enough other people also interested who are in one or zero other games that I feel a little bad about entering yet another one, so, though I'm sure this'll be a good game, I think I'll step out so someone else can take my place.

If there are other drop-outs or something, I should still be free to come back, but as it is, I can give up a game.
