These days, if I ever buy a game, it's either some big sale on Steam, or an old PS2 game. Even then, I really don't buy much. I think I purchased like, 2 games during that holiday sale Steam had last year. I did budge finally purchase Vanquish, which I'd wanted to buy for awhile now.

As for paying $50-$60 for a game now? I just don't do it anymore. The last game I bought on release was Shadows of the Damned. Before then? Mass Effect 2 and Heavy Rain. I had planned to purchase Saints Row 3, and never did. The same has happened for other games. I actually was going to buy Dark Souls, but canceled my preorder because of Namco screwing everything up.

I was going to go on and decided I didn't want to make this an essay.

Also, I wanted to make one more point:

This whole standard of purchasing a system, and throwing old ones away, or more specifically, buying new electronic items and throwing the old ones away, at least with consoles, is going to change drastically within the next 10 years. There's no reason with the technology we have, we should have to buy individual systems to play games designed only for that system. Just as cable TV is being pushed away because of the internet, I think the computer will become sexier and replace how we think consoles should work.

In the next 10 years?

Yeah. And I bet I'll be thinking about all of that in my flying car on the interstate to Mars to have a meeting with Clone SEPs 1 and 2 to decide where we want to go in our time macine.

PC is still an inferior platform for gaming until they address the issues with it. It definitely won't be suitable for games like 2D fighters, or rhythm games, or schmups until the input lag is gone. There's always driver and compatibility issues to work with too.

PC is, and has been for over a decade now, the best gaming platform.

Yeah I think I won't buy consoles anytime soon.. the only games I play long enough for them to be worth it are mmos.

Otherwise I spend 60 bucks for 20 hours of fun, imo it's a waste of money.

In 5-6 years when the new consoles are cheaper and you can find a lot of their games at 20 bucks or so maybe, but not now, my PC will serve me good until then.

There's always hope for better things in life. But you can't let anything, friend, lover, God himself, be your hope. You have to be your own hope.
