Welcome to the newest take on this topic series! With only a few votes cast, Atmosphere won the day earlier.
Rules: - Obvious contest rules apply (no alts, one vote per person, no rallying, etc.). - Voting lasts 24 hours. A new topic will be put up every weekday and sometimes on weekends. - Please do not delete your post, but editing your vote is fine. A deleted post in the topic will invalidate your vote. - Feel free to nominate a band/artist! You may nominate a band once a topic, but only if you have voted. You may not nominate the same band more than once. The band with the most nominations (at least 2) will go next in line. - Discussion is encouraged, but please keep it civil and respect the tastes of other users. I know not everyone likes the same kinds of music but I will try to make accommodations. - Please vote for songs only found in Studio Albums, EPs, Singles, or other official recordings. I will not normally accept votes for any other songs. - Voting is done in the format of +3, +2, +1. I will explain further and give examples of how you can vote below:
You may choose to give points to up to 3 songs by any band or artist. The more songs you rank, the more points you can give!
For example, let's say that the the band to be ranked is Mouse Rat. If I were ranking my top 3, I would present them in this format:
+3 The Pit +2 5000 Candles in the Wind +1 Sex Hair
If another user only knew or wanted to rank 1 song from the band, he would vote in this manner:
+1 November
The users who have a better familiarity with the artist will have more influence than users who only know one song(how can you choose the best song if you only know 1?). That way, the best song (but not necessarily the most well known song) wins.
I'm hoping this works out well and we get balanced results. If it doesn't, I might consider handling the scoring another way.
12 Atmosphere 8 Love Will Tear Us Apart 7 New Dawn Fades 6 Disorder 6 Shadowplay 5 She's Lost Control 4 The Eternal 3 Novelty 2 Dead Souls 2 Transmission
No other song got more than 1 point.
Poor turnout, so I'll be careful to pick more bands that are more well-known.
Top 10 songs so far:
57 Bohemian Rhapsody 51 Don't Stop Me Now 46 Everlong 29 The Pretender 26 Ace of Spades 25 Under Pressure 25 Gimme Shelter 23 Paint It, Black 20 Killer Queen 16 Sympathy for the Devil

my favorite song ever used to be exit music but now it's kind of lost a part of its appeal to me after 5 years of listening to it
that said, it's still a great song
my top 3 now would be
+3 Pyramid Song +2 True Love Waits +1 Everything in Its Right Place
it changes up a lot, because as Extha said only picking 3 radiohead songs is almost impossible. Everything in Its Right Place for example would be mid tier-ish only a few weeks ago but right now I'm obsessed with that song.
+3 Weird Fishes / Arpeggi +2 Black Star +1 The Bends
Shout outs to (Aka the rest of my 12 song CD of Radiohead songs): Last Flowers to the Hospital, Bodysnatchers, Lotus Flower, High and Dry, Karma Police, Bulletproof... I Wish I Was, House of Cards, The Tourist, Sail to the Moon.
Nominate: Porcupine Tree (Favorite band, everyone should seriously listen to them).
Mik_Pick posted... From: EndOfDiscOne | #017 Radiohead is your second favorite band and you only have a CD with 12 of their songs? Well no I have all of their CDs besides Pablo Honey, it's just I have that CD in my car without an Auxiliary cord for my iPod which has about 80.
Ah. Even so I think most of their music works much better in full albums, but you can listen to it however want!
+3 Reckoner +2 Everything In Its Right Place +1 Paranoid Android
there are about 20 songs that would warrant spots on this list
I'll list them all
Just, My Iron Lung, Planet Telex, Street Spirit (Fade Out), Talk Show Host, Climbing Up The Walls, No Surprises, Optimistic, Idioteque, Pyramid Song, Life In A Glasshouse, Sail to the Moon, There There, Nude, Weird Fishes/Arpeggi, Giving Up The Ghost, The Daily Mail
