though some of the items might not be available for purchase yet.

Anyway I thought that FF13 was balanced well enough for the most part and was fairly consistent in difficulty throughout the game without going out of your way to grind or tinkering with weapons (well, besides chapter 11 where they wanted you to take your time before progressing the story, and postgame which is pretty ridiculous about grinding if you want Treasure Hunter). The only time I felt that battles were taking too long were the Sazh - Vanille parts in chapter 4 where you couldn't really hit the weaknesses of the mechanical enemies and Sazh's stats are pretty bad.

So....

I was literally 2 save points away from being able to make my own team.

I also upgraded a few weapons and I'm feeling good about continuing. Perhaps my problem with the game was just I was playing it for too long at a time. Getting back into the battles after not playing for 2 days was kind of refreshing.

Oh sorry, I should update.

Started making my way down the platforms to the boss, and ended up dying really quickly to each of the three fights that block each branch down. I figure I could probably clean them up if I switch someone to Sentinel mode, but instead I got a hankering for AC: Brotherhood, so I'm just taking a break for the time being.
