Ghibli is pretty mainstream. They're also responsible for Spirited Away, Castle in the Sky, My Neighbor Totoro, and Kiki's Delivery Service, which you may have heard of.

Howl's Moving Castle was adapted from a book of the same name, which my sister loved.

EDIT: They also did Princess Mononoke; in my opinion it was their best work.

Yep, Studio Ghibli film. My favorite, in fact, but keep in mind Ghibli fans have completely different rankings for their movies.

Yeah, I think there on the list of films Film4 plays while they're aware no-one is watching because no-one watches Film4 before 7pm.

I just saw Howl's Moving Castle a couple of weeks ago!

I've gotta say, though I didn't think it was bad, it wasn't my favorite of Miyazaki's films. I still have a bunch of them to see, but my ranking so far is:

Princess Mononoke (definitely in my top 5 movies)
Spirited Away
Ponyo
Howl's Moving Castle

There just didn't seem to be enough... something... in Howl's Moving Castle. I'm not quite sure I can pinpoint what it was.

One of the weaker Ghibli movies, actually.

I highly recommend Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, which is their finest work.

Howl's Moving Castle, when compared to the book, is an abomination. I guess it stands on it's own as a Ghibli film though.
