Aren't Pokemon Online's tiers the same as Smogon's, except one or two things that are OU in Smogon aren't in PO? I'm pretty sure PO banned Excadrill too.

Wifi's banlist is the same as Smogon's. OU is the same as Smogon's except a few Pokemon are missing. The banlists for the lower tiers are different from what they are on Smogon.

I can't find it now, but there was a transcript last summer I read where a Moody Bidoof swept an entire OU team thanks to Moody evasion boosts.

As much as I hate Smogon for their practices lately, I agree that Black/White created a metagame where it's hard to just deal with the multitude of hilariously overpowered tactics. What I never understood was why Smogon thought it necessary to ban infinite Sun/Rain but didn't have a problem fighting to keep Sandstream alive. The obvious answer is because it cut as many losses as possible. But there are undertones of favoritism. Sand has been a big part of the game for the better part of a decade.

But I do think Smogon's endless bans are ridiculous. I knew they were going down the slippery slope with their shaky (at best) logic for banning Salamence in the final months of Gen IV. When simply being a presence was grounds for a ban.

It's essentially a double team, especially when you are up against someone that knows what they are doing. If the ability didn't have the evasion boost I don't think we would have much of a problem with it.

Drizzle is usually only on Kyogre, and he is in Uber. I haven't really bothered using the other Drizzlers because with Tyranitar around there is really no reason to use other weather.

May as well have been. I'm of the opinion that when you start banning ability combos, you start losing credibility, since you're managing other people's teams on a micro level.

Well it was either ban the ability combo or ban the Pokemon. At least this way all the affected Pokemon can still be used.

I still say that once Abomasnow gets its dreamworld ability, ban all permaweather, because at that point all the permaweather Pokemon will have access to alternate abilities.
