Depends, books usually give me short bursts of fun because if I enjoy a book I'll read it all in one day.
I can't finish a game I like in one sitting even if I want to, and more often than not it takes more than 24h to beat the games I enjoy so it wouldn't be possible. -- http://img.imgcake.com/cosplaygifer.gif http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TORtanic ... Copied to Clipboard!

Ho ho depends there, if you talk about a whole series it'll take a longer time. But I can easily tear through 500 pages of a book in half a day easily. I've done it alot in High School. Even big ass fantasy books can't last me long if they're good!

Mmm... it's hard for me to say personally. I usually choose to not compare the two, but I probably spend more time reading than playing video games, and I definitely cover more books in a given year.
From: beavis666x2 | #008 I've read a few, and the games are better for each one. The Myst books do come close, though, but Riven was just too good. Actually, in one instance I've played games based on books that were absolutely better than the books. It's two text adventure games from Legend Entertainment, Gateway and Gateway II: Homeworld, which are based on Frederik Pohl's Gateway series. Of course, they're text adventures so it probably isn't that extraordinary of a feat. They didn't follow the events of the books, but were really just set within the same universe. -- Essy, Avian Enthusiast ... Copied to Clipboard!

Duh. Ocarina of Time > Twilight I will respectfully disagree. OoT is a game where nothing especially stands out to me. The plot is sub-JRPG level (and not all JRPGs even have a plot I'd consider good). The gameplay is shallow: when you Z-target one enemy, other enemies mostly ignore you, so you only need to learn how to fight 6 or so 1v1 fights to beat mooks. I'm not a fan of the music, which is overly simplistic and very repetitive to make the area themes sound like the 6-note Ocarena songs. Twilight on the other hand, is hilarious. There are mediocre aspects to it of course, but at least it does one thing very well (humor). Actually, it's also very good at planning ahead: damn near everything that seems out of place in earlier books tends to have a purpose in later books. -- Cats land on their feet. I'm not a fan of the music, which is overly simplistic
it's actually relatively complex compared to most game music, there's bitonal pieces, irregular time signatures, mixed meter, atonality, really probably why a lot of it gets "repetitive", there would be a lot more music if it were more typical of an adventure/RPG kind of game ... Actually, it's also very good at planning ahead: damn near everything that seems out of place in earlier books tends to have a purpose in later books. That reminds me of the Metal Gear series, so you can't be sure if it's really planning ahead or just taking care to explain strange stuff the fanbase was wondering about. :P -- If you like Blitzball, try Captain Tsubasa II (in English) for NES!
