Passed the NY and NJ Bars in November...but the market is awful so it took a few months. Still...much quicker than most recent law school grads these days. Many take 6-9 months. Got an offer within my first 3 interviews. $50K (average for recent law grads is $45K), $25 per month for a smart phone, laptop connected to their network so I can work remotely sometimes, health insurance, 401K contributions, vacation days, sick days, holidays, personal days. Firm is Fein, Such, Kahn, and Shepard. They have like 4-5 locations but are looking to expand again into Long Island. 1 Supervising Attorney, 5 Associate Attorneys, and several staff. I will be 1 of the first 5 Associate Attorneys when they open it up in April-May. I will be in the Creditor's Rights department (representing banks in foreclosures, bankruptcies, and collections). It's the opposite of what I used to do (representing the debtors with bankruptcy, foreclosures, credit repair, etc).
From: SlymDayspring | #007 does this mean you will stop being a ****ty troll
Absolutely not.
From: GenesisSaga | #008 Congrats man! I guess that means we'll be seeing less of you. Such a shame.
I'm sure need some unwind time which I usually do on Gfaqs.
From: JDTAY | #009 Yay, have fun working for the dark side.
We should meet up in Hell sometime.
Yes...it seems I always am on the dark side. When I was working with the debtors I was screwing over everyone who lent them money. I even screwed over employees who worked a full month and didn't get paid for it. Now I'm with the banks looking to foreclose on families and boot them out. That's probably even darker than my previous position.
What school did you get out of? How many bankruptcy classes did you take while you were there (or are you going to learn a lot on the job)? And hows the life right out of school? (I'm in lawschool too)

Rutgers Law. 1 class (it's not like undergrad where you can actually concentrate in a specific area). You learn nothing in school...you only learn to practice an area when you're actually doing it (I interned with a bankruptcy attorney). Life out of school sucks since you are studying for the Bar. Then after that it's okay.
Thanks. I'm nervous about giving up my "childhood" of kind of doing things however I want and being a free agent with my scheduling and stuff...but I guess it's about that time.
