Yeah it's impossible to find parking here during peak hours. They keep remodeling and fixing buildings and stuff but never do anything about parking. I dont get it.

Ann Arbor has got to be one of the worst towns for parking I've ever seen. Makes it hard to live off campus unless you feel like walking 20 minutes to get anywhere. And if you're on the North Campus like I was? Freaking forget about it.

Yeah and they continue to build new buildings without adding any parking. They actually TOOK OUT parking so they could throw in a freaking chapel.

I refuse to pay for parking. I've been going here for three years without paying for a permit and I've only gotten two tickets so yeah.

Watch me get ticket no. 3 today though.

Sounds like my community college. They destroyed various parking lots, but for more practical reasons. Like adding new buildings to accommodate more students. Except that this is a community college and literally everyone commutes, so that just makes problems worse. Businesses nearby were getting upset about this because students would park illegally near them.

Ugh.

It's only like a 5 minute walk off of campus so I deal with it. I could use the exercise!

I know the last time I got ticketed I was like "LOOK PEOPLE TAKE UP VISITOR THIS ISN'T FAIR" and they said that they were going to start giving tickets to people with permits that were using visitor parking but they apparently never started.

But it doesn't matter because they're just like "WELL YOU'RE A STUDENT YOU NEED TO GET A PERMIT"

Oh, and the super b**** move they do is that you can sell back your parking permit pro-rated for the amount of months you have left, but they cut that off in March. So f*** you if you're not taking summer classes.

Portland State is in the heart of downtown AKA parking is complete bufu both in paying for it and finding a spot. I probably pay about $400 a term in metered city parking, and I've circled campus for 45 minutes to an hour before unable to find a place to park.
