nothing great at launch but that's to be expected. Uncharted sounds pretty underwhelming and SSHD sounds like a cool version. lotsa ports.
weird that this thing is out so soon. it kinda snuck up on us (or me at least) since nobody is really talking about it. I guess it's because there aren't many notable games outside of ports.
I like the look of Gravity Daze/Rush - I'm interested to see how it is reviewed. Escape Plan looks like something I'd pick up on the cheap. Otherwise, I think the only Vita game I'm interested in is a Persona 4 re-release. Needs to be a bit more than that to lure me into a purchase.

Who knew the Rivalry Rumble would be so predictable? SuperNiceDog, that's who.
Army Corps of hell got a low mark from GI, but I'll be curious what actual people say since GI tends to be absurdly hard on mass combat games and RTSes. If it is anything close to being "evil pikmin" or Overlord II-ish Ill be happy.
No reviews for Shinobido II yet, but the Uncharted sounds passable, these flaws are the same ones that people pointed out when the game was demo'd a while back.
I will likely get 2 of the three on launch day so I am anticipating more reviews for the Japanese duo of games. --
edwardsdv and swordz9 are basically the comedy heel tag team of this topic, why would people be taking them seriously?
yeah, Vita seems like a disaster day 1 purchase -- especially considering what happened to 3DS -- but give it a year or two and it should be an awesome handheld. well, assuming Japan supports it. but it probably will.
yep. it'll get one but it'll probably be an expanded port of 3G. Nintendo has locked down 4 which is a real killer to Sony. that's probably worth a hundred million dollars.
biggest reason why the vita launch is so quiet probably is because the 3ds is so loud and has been for the past 3 months, with another big month ahead of itself. Feb is a HUGE month for the 3DS. yes, RE is the big one but there's the PS2 ports with MGS3D and Tales of the Abyss.
March meanwhile is basically just Kid Icarus. maybe Rayman as i'd imagine platformers would do better on a nintendo handheld than most in the first place, and if the 3D is good it'd have something over the rest. though while i'm at it remember that onyl the retail version of Rayman PC has no DRM. downloaded versions have it, for some reason. i... honestly do like that standard too and hope it gets looked at more instead of the crap we have now - it'd give a reason to buy the discs besides just collection purposes and that result could drive some physical hardware sales again. it's weird but i'm hoping that it works.
...actually there might be a different entrant in Feb/March. it's unknown when the release date will land, but:
Rhythm Thief looks to be the first big cult game for the system and gets described as Layton meets Rhythm Heaven meets EBA. trailers are fansubbed. character introduction vid subbed so you can consider the main top tier:
short version: you're playing a badass thief in paris who wears a suit, has a cool hat, and a cool dog. story's a big deal to the game too which you can tell from the trailer (and the producer has gone down saying that story is important and that the rhythm game genre has ignored it too much). it just came out in japan not too long ago and we're expected to get it sometime soon. dude has style and def should be a game looked into. this won't get a lot of attention probably from review sites and the like, but it's definitely the kind of game that board 8 will gush over.
you'll probably hear more about the Vita in the US come April or May as things die down a bit, though we'll be entering E3 mode and asking for US releases from Nintendo with more than 3 month warning ain't happening.
and i do mean just 'a bit' because KH3DS is in Japan in March, with Fire Emblem in Japan in April. but at least by then Vita should have some footing to work with.
