I beat FFT for the first time within the past year, and I don't remember Orlandeau being all that overpowered or anything.

Orlandu can solo most (all, maybe) story fights from after the point you get him if you leave Excalibur on him.

It's not all Excalibur, though. Put that on Agrias and she's not nearly as lethal with it (though still quite strong)
