They changed the Best Picture rules again where up to ten films can make it but they have to receive something like 5% of the first place votes. Only 9 films did.

I actually haven't seen all that many films from 2011 though. From the top of my head, I can think of:
- Rango - Moneyball - The Descendents - Adventures of Tintin
That's all I can honestly think of. If that is the final amount, then that is easily the least that I have seen in a year for as long as I can remember. I used to sometimes see that many in a month back when I was a teenager

Drive and Warrior got snubbed pretty heavily. Then again I have only seen The Help and Midnight in Paris from the best picture nominees. But I thought Drive and Warrior were a whole lot better than those 2.

Someone on another forum pointed out that we have three silent performances nominated this year (The two from The Artist and Max von Sydow). Kind of cool. Probably the first time multiple silent performances have been nominated since the first ceremony.
