Well... I suppose I've already got a whole bunch of crap backlogged as it is.

Doubt most people can follow through though.

It's a fine idea, I won't be doing it but a fine idea. But man is it so broad and vague, even with the maximum amount of people who would do it, no particular "big evil company" is gonna feel it.

But, tis the thought that counts.

Also for the record, for books, dvds, cds, things like that the companies already made their money when they got them into stores. Us leaving them on the shelves for a month will hurt retailers though.

It's also saying we shouldn't buy any music or video games at all.

Way to be a complete douche to indie artists.

This entire thing is stupid, honestly.

Yes, it will hurt sales of honest people

yes, it will make people lose jobs

It's called making a stand. It may be naive to think people can pull this off. It may even be naive to think that even if it worked it would help anything. But what do you suggest we do? Keep 'celebrating' that we put SOPA in the fridge for a month and then when everyone's forgotten about it they can legislate it? Big companies going down will always hurt people, but in the end it's up to you to decide whether you think it's worth that or not. In this case, for me it is

Yeah, because not buying a record by an indie artist on Bandcamp or not buying Super Meat Boy or some other indie game will hurt the RIAA and MPAA.

I suggest that this is better thought out than not buying any type of media at all ever during March.

And I completely agree with you on that part. I'm not the creator of the image though and to get a general message across asterixes are most of the time useless

Also, another thing that this isn't thought about is that the Spring quarter is the lowest profit points of the year anyway.

This would obviously be bad if it were during November, but March?

Why does it advise not buying video games? The actual publishers don't support the legislation, just the ESA, afaik

this simply inflates their quarter 2 profits, delaying your purchases doesn't send a message at all, they still get their money. you need to outright boycott them and americans are too weak to do it.

This is true in a way, but a month is a long time economically

I personally don't care what you buy or not buy, considering that people actually only have to boycot a few big companies to get the message across

id mainly support not going to the movies. That would easily hurt them more than not buying games.

But gaming sucks anyway these days so i doubt id be buying anything in march. I cant wait till people get casual'd with mass effect 3.

Um... I already do this. I use Netflix, Hulu Plus, and Spotify for my video and music needs. The last game I bought was Skyrim (11/11/11), and before that it was, like, a used copy of Fallout New Vegas from a friend.

I'll totally be doing this, although since I already make an effort to not buy their crap they won't notice it.
