One of my many issues with the original was that it was so piss easy, from the overpowered arsenal of tools to the infinitely respawning Vita Chambers. I remember I beat down a Big Daddy with a Wrench right next to a Vita Chamber, just because I knew I could and suffer zero consequences. The originally creepy, interesting, and intimidating enemies become a joke the longer the game goes on and lose all their menace. This is a big step in the right direction to something actually resembling a challenging video game. -- You know who's sexy? I'm a big fan of the idea. I'd love it if developers spending more time making a hard version of their game became the convention. It adds replay value and gives more experienced players something they can't breeze through. Too often they just lazily bump up damage.

Sounds like what Normal mode should be. One of my many issues with the original was that it was so piss easy, from the overpowered arsenal of tools to the infinitely respawning Vita Chambers. I remember I beat down a Big Daddy with a Wrench right next to a Vita Chamber, just because I knew I could and suffer zero consequences. The originally creepy, interesting, and intimidating enemies become a joke the longer the game goes on and lose all their menace.

This is a big step in the right direction to something actually resembling a challenging video game.
