Honestly, I don't know who else is a can't miss in the 2012 Draft besides Davis off the top of my head. And the 2012 Draft is supposed to be one of the deepest, though lately experts are backtracking on that notion.

I'd love to get Thomas Robinson or Jared Sullinger but I think they'll be off the board by the time we draft if we don't move up.

At which point, I'm probably resigning myself to someone like Perry Jones (Ugh) or John Henson (like his game, not his build).

Sad part is that if the season ended today, we'd be the 7th worst team for the third year in a row.

The teams who would trade for Melo or Amare would be too good for the picks to be any good, and the Knicks already tried the whole 'get rid of everything' method which led to them giving Amare a max contract in the first place.

Not to mention that with the new luxury tax rules teams won't want to pick up too many massive contracts.

And I was incorrect. Jason Thompson wasnt a starter it was Thorton. Still happy to see donte Green getting some starter love. Would have loved for my lineup to start and Marcus Thorton come off the bench as Jason Terry 2.0

What you see is largely what you'll get with the Knicks. They've got a lot of money locked up into Carmelo and Amar'e, they traded their 2012, 2014, and 2016 first round picks away, they'll be above $60 million in salary cap for the next 4 seasons. It'll be MLE and trades from here on out, and I don't know how many trade assets they have outside of Lin, Fields and Shumpert. Not to mention Fields is a free agent after this season and they'll have to look into how much they'll extend him for.

In 2014/2015, when Amar'e is 32-33, Chandler is 32-33, and Anthony is 30-31, they'll be making a combined $60 million.

They're boned.

On a completely unrelated note: Josh Smith wants out of Atlanta and if he ends up anywhere other than Detroit I'm going to slap the s*** out of Dumars.

All below his career averages. I'd say he had a below average season last year. Granted, not as bad as this season, but I'd hardly label it monsterous.

hm in fairness, i didn't really follow nash's suns. i mean, amare's never exactly been known for rebounding and D - he seemed a like a really great offensive engine then though. now he literally just stands around on both sides of the court.
