and we obviously can't take the toys in, but apparently we can't even take the actual game itself!

needless to say, they were pissed but who the hell invests all of that money into something like that to just want to get rid of it so quickly?

There's a starter pack that comes with the standard game.

You also need the little portal thing, which is only available in the standard game starter kit.

I don't believe you can buy JUST the game anywhere. You have to get a starter kit, which includes three figures, the game, and the portal. No one would buy the game used because you wouldn't have the portal.

Since the portal and toys work with any of the games, I could see someone with a different version wanting to buy just the game.

Yeah, but that's the minority. Very few people are going to dump money into the toys and the starter kit only to suddenly say "Oh hey, I want it on a different system."
