I sure hope none of you guys will re-consider buying it on PC because of this, spreading out would be stupid when most of us have a PC capable of running the game since I doubt its system requirements are high at all.
Also no source because I'm lazy but it shouldn't be hard to find an article about it. -- http://i40.tinypic.com/mc3igi.gif (Never gonna post the rest) http://img.imgcake.com/happybouncytimegifej.gif ... Copied to Clipboard!

I'm infinitely curious as to how they can make this work control wise.
No interest at all in the game itself so I guess I'll amuse myself with observing this, instead. >_> -- Falcon Punch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FFtw7qW7Vcw ... Copied to Clipboard!

They've been talking about a console version since it was announced IIRC.
System requirements were similar to WoW last time they said anything. So if you have a computer that can run 2004 games, you're good. Also they will prob try to do console cross-play, and Diablo really would be fine on a controller. I imagine there will be millions of sales on consoles. -- _foolmo_ 'he says listen to my story this maybe are last chance' - ertyu quoting Tidus ... Copied to Clipboard!

I would never want to play a Diablo clone on console. I've tried, and my experience is that most games of that type fail spectacularly. (Sacred 2, anyone?)
The key issue is that abilities in these games are targeted. You need a cursor to position them. Every system I've seen that has tried to use a thumbstick to emulate a targeting system has failed, including Diablo (PS1), Sacred 2 (360), and the Baldur's Gate games. The only game in this style that has been *remotely* passable was Champions of Norrath, and only because it was a console exclusive, so there were no existing abilities that had to be shoehorned into console controls. However, the converse of this statement is troubling. Blizzard games are the sorts of games that lend themselves naturally to keyboard + mouse. In recent years, there has been a radical shift in game development where games that I would normally think of as computer-first have been clearly designed with a console mentality, and the PC version been adapted from the console edition rather than the other way around. As a result, games like Skyrim have limitations and user interfaces that often look hamfisted or kludgy. I assumed the one developer I would never have to worry about this from would be Blizzard, since they always seemed so radically intent on focusing on desktops as their platform. If Diablo III is designed in such a way that it is meant to be friendly to consoles, rather than simply ported after the fact, I'm concerned I may no longer be interested in playing it. (Slight exaggeration, but it will be less good than if it were purely a PC title.) -- It's Super Nice to get Dogged in the guru. ... Copied to Clipboard!
