Yeah I was 15 when I posted my first post on board 8. It was so awesome that I had found a site that likes the same games like I did. Magus was obviously the character who had a slightest chance to defeat Link in 2003 and Mega Man made it to the final four three years in a row.

I'm 24 now, and all my favourite characters have dropped a lot in strength >_>

Was 15 as well when I joined, which apparently seems like a common age. I'm 24 now. I remember some of the older users at the time (like shake) who were already in their 20's beginning to feel like they were getting too old for the place and considering moving on. I always thought it'd be the type of place with a constant teenage/early 20's audience, the idea of the entire community growing old together was frankly insane. Message boards either get a constant stream of new users or they die off from the natural departure of existing users. Board 8'ers just never seemed to be very good at the whole "leaving the board forever" busines.

13 when I came here in 2002. I second the "used B8 as a nerd escape."

Other than my brother and a couple of IRL friends, no one ever knew my true secret nerdiness levels. It becomes a lot easier and more accepting in college when you weed out all the dumb-asses and hicks.

Still, holy ****. Im gonna be 24 in 2 months. Thank you B8 for being my cyber home for a decade.

Yeah it blows my mind that the average age has had a linear increase like this. I figured once people turned 18... maybe 22, they'd leave and a new generation would emerge. That basically stopped happening in like 06 >_>

I have been here for a while too. I joined this board when I was 14 and now I'm turning 22 this year. I never expected that Gamefaqs Contest were going to survive this long or that I would stay in this board until now (even though I just participate in a few contests and I'm more of a lurker).
