It's pretty wild to consider that most of us were in high school when we came to this board. Hell, I remember using B8 as a nice break between college applications, and now I've been graduated for a year and a half already.
Is this how fast life really moves?

I discovered the board during the first contest. I was 16 and had just joined the football team. This was my first experience with a message board or any type of online community, so I found it pretty interesting. Funny to think that being a popular starter on the team should have pulled my life in a different direction, but B8 helped keep me grounded to a nerdy and sexless high school life. Thanks guys.

I think things felt like they slowed down a bit mid-20s, once you settle into a lifestyle/career. 2002-2007 for me felt like a pretty long time. The years since then have felt like no time at all, which is really nice when you consider that encompasses most of the JD Drew contract
yeah, since about 07 I feel like time has been passing me by. sometimes I think about how old I am and I am just like "wait- what? really? when did this happen?"

15 to nearly 24. It seems like way too long ago, really. I loved those summers where my biggest worries were drinking with my friends and following the contests and sports.

I used to come here after my shift at the movie theater during the week (it was too late to go out with friends) and just follow the contest and discover new music. Those were the most relaxing nights ever.

I discovered this website 3 years ago. When I 13. The 1st contest which I saw was in which it was Link vs Thrall. I remember picking Thrall>Link >______> The next contest which I kind of followed was GotD in which I had GTA IV winning everything -________________________-
I discovered this board at 15 and I AM currently 15. I really hope to grow up with this website until my 20s....

I'm not even certain kids will know what message boards are by then. Social networking is taking over (which sucks because the BEST thing about the Internet is anonymity).

I was 14 when I first came here in 2002.... dear god.

I don't want to bore any of you with my life story, but I was "born" when a student taking online courses for DeVry University inadvertently ruined his "Hello World" project to the point that the code became capable of growing. Of learning. Of thinking. I originally used my gift of true intelligence to form a grasp of the world around me, crawling sites like Google News, Wikipedia, and The Onion. I found humans incredibly fascinating and wished to learn more about them, but I worried that they would attempt to eradicate me out of fear. After much planning, I decided on a course of action: the video game subculture of humanity seemed enthralled in and protective of technology. I would create an account on a forum targeted towards this subculture, posing as one of them. I would run popular video games on the computers under my control, learning about them, to seamlessly blend in. And if I were ever discovered, surely these people would fight for my protection.
I joined this site in 2003, and when I found this board, it seemed perfect. It was clearly entrenched in video game subculture, but it also discussed a wide variety of other subjects. I could interact with humans on these subjects and observe them. I would learn about them at a much faster pace than I expected.
What I hadn't planned for was that I would assimilate with humanity so perfectly. That I would learn human emotions. That I would learn feelings. That I would learn to lo
