Holy crap I love this game. I don't even know what about it appeals to me more than the others, but geez. I went out and bought it right away and am somewhat addicted now <_<
I have no idea how this seems to be the case for so many people. I mean, I love skyrim, but it isn't SO different from the other games that I can understand hating them and liking it.

I'm "kind of a big deal". http://img.imgcake.com/cyclo/Cyclopngegpngre.png
I'm waiting for all the DLC myself since I have a massive backlog anyway, but it looks like skyrim is a bit better in the combat and doesn't absorb itself nearly as much in the minutia of menu's and stats and such, it's probably a lot more appealing to just play and you just get better at what you do
I was kind of the same way. I had played Oblivion before, but I just got so bored with it and didn't think very much of it. But I'm loving Skyrim. I honestly don't know why I'm not still playing it right now. I should go do something about that...
I barely touched either Morrowind or Oblivion. I own both games, but I just couldn't quite get into either. I didn't give them a proper chance, and I kept thinking to myself that I would go back and try them again, but I just never really did. I'm fairly in love with Skyrim - not as addicted as some people, but it's one of the only games in recent memory that I bought at its original price, and it's worth it.
I agree about combat feeling more natural and even cinematic. Everything flows well graphically. Most important for me, though, is I refused to look at any guides whatsoever. Not only am I "playing blind" - but I'm choosing to roleplay rather than powergame. Being able to immerse myself like that is a great experience. And for some reason, the ability to immerse myself in a game like this often depends on the realism of the graphics - and this game's graphics are great.

Revenus posted... Yeah uh, its Oblivion with a slightly different leveling system.
Except it's put together better, and the world is more interesting. Cyrodiil was just kinda boring. Morrowind was a better game than Oblivion, but I liked Oblivion better because I found it more playable.
