Unadjusted x-stats don't have Pokemon at #3, no. But there was SFF in Link/Mario and probably in Mario/Pokemon as well, so they could still be about even. I think Cloud would have won an actual contest match because normally bracket voting would exist, and he definitely would have been favored going in.

Yeah, past gold/silver, it gets kinda lame because whoever you play as is optional and doesn't appear in other games or anything. Like, which of the guy or girl is Black?

I'd take Dawn/Cynthia over a lot of fodder. Black/N...uh, I'd take it over Guybrush. Brendan/Steven...man, now THAT would be fodder.
