I haven't bothered watching this season because I thought the last half of S4 and the entirety of S5 were both brutal, but is S6 good?

I remember being pleasantly surprised when I marathoned S7 of 24 after skipping it week-to-week due to S6 sucking butthole, but is this a similar situation?

Dexter is my favorite current TV show, so I'd say give it a watch. That said, it's easily the least excellent season so far in my book.

No the entire season was horrible and I think 5 was way better. Should watch the last episode due to plot advancement reasons I guess?

I'm not current with season 6, but so far I'm enjoying it more than season 5. From what I've seen, I'm the only one.

Ack, I wasn't even thinking.

Anyway, I liked the first four or five episodes of Season 6 a lot. After that, it sort of lost its way and went way downhill. It got too convoluted and misguided for its own good and abandoned a lot of what made the first episodes about the season good, in the first place.

3 is such a forgettable season btw. All I really remember happening is Jimmy Smits being awesome. Miguel/Dexter was great....but the rest was crap. The Skinner is the worst Dexter villian.

Some parts of six were good. Watch it. All seasons are enjoyable enough.

Season 3 was my favorite. Miguel was just that good. Who cares about the Skinner? That's like saying season 1 sucked because some guy who ended up on Dexter's table was lame. Who cares?

As for 2, people often don't like it because of Lila. But they never mention DOAKES. Doakes/Dexter was one of the best things about the series. And I actually like Lila so season 2 just becomes the best season for me.

You'd have to hate Lilah A LOT to make her single-handedly drop that whole season down so much while also forgetting about stuff from the later seasons to make up for it.

the ending of season 2 was such a copout. if Dexter had actually made a choice, it might have been my favorite season. as is i'd still probably rank it second, but man, so disappointing.

Yeah, S2 has the DOAKES factor going for it, which is why I rank it so highly. Him and Trinity are easily the best two characters ever to be on the show.

I stopped watching around halfway S6

I plan on catching up but it was really a drag to even get through one episode a week. The first couple of episodes are really good and then it just gets worse

this sounds like good advice. i had heard about Homeland, but forgot all about it.

i'm sure i'll get to Dexter eventually (already have all the episodes), but it's just not a top priority right now.

didn't care for Lumen first of all. Fowler with the whole "ur don't know what ur dealing with" kinda built up a level of sinister villainy that just didn't do much... The season antagonist just did not live up to previous season antagonists in my opinion...
