The nostalgia for both games is practically equal. So stop saying that people who voted for Red and Blue wouldn't have had the same experiences with FFVII that you did, because chances are they did.

I couldn't think of better words. Basically I was trying to say that they were released close enough together that the gamers who played FFVII at launch would have been the same gamers who would have played Red and Blue at launch.

A lot of people here were old enough to like Pokemon (basically anyone that's in at least 1st grade), but FF7 required an older audience (probably early teens). Pokemon has more of a potential for nostalgia imo

Also, back then, people actually took sides in the console wars instead of just buying every system. Handhelds, on the other hand, there really wasn't any competition to the Game Boy. So that has to help.
