exactly! i don't think i've ever really seen a character go through so much and the actor not only consistently keep the quality up for each change, but include it all, acknowledge it all, and both the gimmicks and the person make the entire process so.... smooth.
that guy just showed me this year that really, you give him a mic and an idea, and he won't just give you a promo - he'll give you 3 months of it at high quality. that and his consistently improving ring work just stun me to how good this kid already is and that he's really not much older than me. hell, outside of divas i think he's currently their youngest title holder by a good margin. and even if ryder wins, cody might still be that, though the margin there would obviously be less.

i just figured he had to dye it brown for some IRL engagement, like a wedding or something.
It was part of an abortive attempt to shift his character towards a more serious type, but the angle was dropped almost immediately and he dyed his hair back like a month later.
Also since we're on the topic of Ziggler, why do you think they surgically removed perfection from his stuff. Think maybe theyre repackaging Joe Hennig as Joe Hennig?

aw yeah alabama slam love. it's such a rare move too. i mean i understand it can be very risky but cody's pretty good at keeping it safe. i think he's got a couple more callbacks in his arsenal there - the guy has very indie-like tendencies pulled in matches and it's too consistent to be coincidence i think. some of his style most definitely wasn't something gotten out of wwe, but smaller promotions and/or japan.
and 'a bit more metrosexual,' really.

It really has. There's no creativity in the booking, which is shocking considering Delirious has the book. The champions - Davey Richards, Jay Lethal, Wrestling's Greatest Tag Team - all follow the same "let's show them who's the best WRESTLER" character, and even their opponents - Briscoes notwithstanding - have fallen into that same trap. I partially put the blame on Richards; his distorted view of strong style, now branded American Strong Style, coupled with the reverence everyone seems to have for him in the company has lead far too many people astray.
Their cuts and losses have hurt, too. Colt, Hero, Claudio and Necro are either gone or no longer being booked, and they've been replaced by Michael Elgin and Tommaso Ciampa, who are absolutely dreadful in the ring. If they want a young big guy, Luke Gallows isn't really doing anything (aside from putting on an excellent series of matches with Jake Davis)! Truth Martini is still around. I can't believe Truth Martini is still around. There's a guy who's worn out his welcome.
I'm not even interested in Final Battle. Have you seen the card? You don't even have to compare it to 2010 to know it's not a great card, but still, let's compare!

Hey now, Final Battle isn't an awful card. Richards vs. Edwards will deliver the same great-but-still-overrated match as before, WGTT vs. Briscoes is money, and Steen vs. Corino is the start of...something. I have no idea where that's going but it will most likely mean Kevin Steen having a big role in 2012 which can do nothing but help the company immensely.
And the Roderick Strong Invitational is going to be answered by Nigel, which should be good, unless they're swerving us with that buildup.

steen is great but steen vs. roh has not been nearly as exciting as steen vs. generico. the match itself will probably be fine (maybe motn), but the build to the match itself has been awful. the build to every match save briscoes vs. briscoes' opponent , and that's kind of important when you're selling a PPV.

Eddie Edwards could walk into WWE tomorrow and be an instant midcard title guy as long as he had a manager mouthpiece until he could take promo classes.
Davey's ceiling is ROH World Champion. I don't even think his style works in the X Division.

The build to the match has basically just been Corino pleading for it to finally exterminate the evil he brought into the world, and Steen trying to get re-instated through litigation (featuring a vignette where he has assembled the slimiest team of fake lawyers I've ever seen), until Cornette finally caved and gave them the match.

maybe he's not as great technically, but he's the same kind of "go all out in the ring and exhibit no charisma" guy though
and davey has become really underrated as a wrestler lately. yeah he has no psychology now, but that's only because that's what made him popular after he spent years languishing in the roh midcard as just another great wrestler. now the same thing that made him popular makes him hated because he won the title and everyone gets turned on after they win the title (except eddie because he didn't have it long enough). happened to roddy and tyler too. he's completely capable of wrestling as a technician. in fact he's probably top 10 in the world.
davey can be fine on the mic. not good, but passable. roddy needed truth martini. he.... can't talk on it. i don't know why. he's actually able to hold a solid conversation in person. just not in the ring. i think that's what they're trying to pull - play what you know for him right now. ain't working out sadly.

My local indy fed CLASH Wrestling is basically the graduate program for the House of Truth wrestling school.
Based on that product, Truth is an incredible booker (if he's the one booking, I'm not sure) and he is fantastic at teaching his students how to come up with gimmicks and get them over, because that's what they do best.
Not a ton of great wrestling though. There's one guy that is head and shoulders above the rest, and if he ever breaks through to something higher he'll be the first guy I can really say that I saw come up from nothing.
On a side note, the special attraction match at their next show is Colt Cabana vs. Zach Gowen, which should be pretty damn amusing.

Also i agree, Eddie definitely has the biggest upside of the RoH guys because hes got that great versatile style with some really recognizable great looking Maneuvers. Davey is, well, Davey.
