And now, for the usual commentary!

Against all odds, despite getting a quality win, FFVIII somehow managed to drop a spot from #32 to #33. Sonic 3 & Knuckles and Pokémon Black/White take big tumbles, from #39 and #36 to #52 and #48. Pokémon RBY's 15-spot rise was obviously the biggest, but Mario Kart 64 also made a big rise after rebounding from its loss, up 12 spots to #39.

Oh, and the 26-30 that I usually include: Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney: Trials & Tribulations (25), Super Metroid (27), Metal Gear Solid (29), Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance (21), Kingdom Hearts (26).

Losing to MM2 at the time when it lost wasn't really a bad loss.

(But PW3 will still beat PW1 head to head when the time comes, so this argument is irrelevant. All you've shown there is that the two games are essentially relatively close together based on their resumes, and PW3 winning head to head will render whatever PW1 > PW3 argument you may have moot)

Tsunami has weird priorities for his rankings anyway, like dropping Symphonia out of his top 25 for "terrible" performances such as only winning by less than 60% against the only two good opponents in its conference.

A very good point. But aside from the fact that this still puts PW3 at 24-4 and PW1 at 23-5, more of PW1's losses came in conference. It isn't fair, but it's true--voters tend to penalize recent losses more harshly.

And yeah, Wind Waker isn't much better at being a "quality loss" than TWEWY is. TWEWY does have a few bad losses in the earliest weeks of the competition, but mostly it just had a brutal schedule and only occasionally managed to get wins.
