Yeah, this usually happens to me when I play Fire Emblem. I get to the very end of the level and some random bull**** (Goddamn you 1% critical hits...) kill one of my units, and I don't feel like playing again for a really long time after that.

Well, I always save religiously, so this exact situation pretty much never happens to me.

But there have been moments where I've lost saves for other reasons after playing through a game for a long time, and was just "well... screw this."

I try to save regularly when I can, but there are times where you just get on a roll and you forgot to do that stuff

Not the same situation, but I got quite a bit through GTA:IV when they patched trophies in, so I started over to collect trophies and I just didn't feel like playing through anymore. Still never even caught back up to where I was originally. I tried playing again some time ago, and I failed the mission I left off on, one that I beat my first try originally, so I just turned the game back off and haven't played since.

I forget to save so much in Skyrim, which is strange because I save all the time in Morrowind (which is more stable), I guess it's because the save time is longer in Skyrim, only a second or two but still noticeable.

Brawl. I got to that last part where you have to go through all the portals and battle all the other characters (or something, I dunno, it sucked) and I died after killing a bunch of them. I said, "**** that noise," turned off my Wii, and I haven't played the game since.

I love the Smash games but what the hell were they thinking?

can't remember specifics though. Oh wait, Mass Effect PC. I was driving the Mako, At this one part you're on like a bridge thing, I ran over some debris and it shifted the vehicle to drive off the edge. Didn't save in a long long while, had to reload.

Then once again, get to the same part, in the Mako, saw an opening, turned into it, the vehicle got jammed in a way that it wasn't touching the ground so I couldn't get out of the vehicle, had to reload the old save again. -___-

FFIX. That one dungeon you go through where you have to break the glass doors with a bell or something.

Some random encounter monster completely wiped me out. I hadn't been able to save for an hour or so (and up to this point, everything had been cake) and this thing just one shots every single person in my party.
