He's kinda right though. This contest has had zero upsets come match time. Trainers > Fighters was technically an upset at bracket time but it became more and more obvious that that was going to happen. Alucard > Magus was technically an upset at bracket time as well (barely, though) but yeah, pretty obvious now. Basically this contest punished you for taking risks.

I mean, unless you're just a big Trainers fan and you're thrilled to see them make a big run, but even then, you have to admit that the rest of the contest has been awful.

The Bosses have gained back 60 votes in half and hour. It's partially to do with the North American night vote, but it's also because the first few hours were filled with people bracket voting, who were scared of an upset.
The comeback is very unlikely, but they could still make it fun.

Summer 2004 was better just because we had less data. Things like Mega Man being able to beat Link weren't totally out of the question. That and a decent amount of the round 1 matches were up in the air-- lots of close ones. We didn't have a match closer than 55-45 until well into round 2 this year.

It's not perfect, but would've been pretty close to it if I'd stayed cookie-cutter. I only got a couple of 1st round matches wrong that were debated here anyway, as well as the upset run I picked (B.J./Adolf to the last 8). Not that this matters - the contest sucks and has been terribly predictable regardless of my score in it.

Trainers > Fighters isn't even an upset... I had no doubt at all about that. I've got Trainers losing to Mario in my bracket. That's just how gamefaqs is.

Uh, Summer 2004 was amazing compared to this trash. Frog/Master Chief alone beats this whole contest... Not to mention Crono destroying Mario.

Summer 2004 had Frog and the Ryu/Sora/Jill trio, which were largely insignificant matches (with the exception of Frog/Snake) in the long run.

Beyond that it was nothing more than upper-midcarders getting wasted in SFF matches rather than being put in interesting scenarios. There really was no excuse for wasting Auron/Squall/Ganon/Bowser like that.

This contest may give us a championship run from the Trainers, which would put it over 2004.

60% on the fighters is great, especially since they nearly doubled Fox/Wolf. They also stand to gain a bandwagon due to nostalgia.

The Trainers won't beat Link. Even if they could beat Mario, Link is a huge step above Mario. Link's strength is absolutely out of this world in comparison to Mario. The moment any Nintendo character comes into contact with Link, it turns into an SFF beatdown.

I think the Trainers have a chance to beat Mario, because Charizard came close to doing it last year. But it really depends on what the Trainers do against Samus next round. I'll call the Mario upset impossible if they can't get above 60% on Samus.

Okay, srly...Trainers beating Fighters was not unexpected at all. Almost 40% of Gurus had that in their bracket, and after Rounds 1 and 2 it was VERY OBVIOUS that it would happen. Charizard was enough indication before the contest even started.
Many people have them beating Samus in their bracket, including myself.

Vote swing is over. Bosses lost 50 fast. This looks like the end of it.

It wasn't obvious BEFORE the contest started.Back then we made the bracket.After the contest started then yeah it seemed Trainers were the slight favorite.But that is.It is not that they were a great force or something like that.
