From: ShadowHalo17 | #297 Can someone explain to me what all contributes to points and how many are gained? For both players and teams.
points for players is goals + assists
you get one point for contributing to a goal
if you have a game where you score a goal and assist on 2 more, you get 3 points
teams is different, it's used for the standings
you get 2 points if you win a game, whether it's in regulation, OT, or shootout you get 1 point if you lose in OT or shootout you get 0 points if you lose in regulation
Ott is moving full speed toward the goal and shoots, doesn't make it in, but he has some trouble stopping. He falls toward the boards and rams headlong into a ref's balls. Looked painful on both ends, but it I guess the ref didn't actually get hurt, Ott did.
Then after that, the Stars made a goal. Then another one right away.

Hiller can play as well as any goalie when he's on his game. He's got that ability to just steal a game completely and is a big game player as evident by the Olympics and the '09 playoffs. Unfortunately he hasn't been able to return to form this season, but part of that is the team's fault for playing so poorly in front of him. The sad thing is that Hiller hasn't even been our worst player this year, guys like Lydman and Ryan have been atrocious.

Yeah that was the story Muffin. I think the decision was either to trade a big piece like Ryan or fire Carlyle. Murray basically said he had no plans to trade Ryan after Carlyle got the boot. However the Ducks have been just as bad under Boudreau so I wouldn't be surprised if someone like Ryan gets dealt.

From: TheOceIot | #310 Ladies and gentleman, your 2011/12 Anaheim Ducks.
It baffles me that there is a team in the league worse than us. Like, just how bad are the Blue Jackets?
They're unbelievably bad. In my opinion they've been the worst team in the league since that year they made the playoffs and got swept by Detroit. The ROW stat is making it even more clear these days.
The Ducks being terrible is sad. They even gave fans some hope in that game when they managed to come back from being three behind and tied it up in the second period. Then of course the Stars unsurprisingly got two more goals in the third period.

The Ducks being so bad is probably one of the biggest surprises of this season.
Going into the season even if I was asked who would be the better team -- Ottawa or Anaheim? I would have said Anaheim easily. Really disappointing for them this year.
In other news how the **** has Montreal turned this coaching **** into a goddamn language sideshow. So sick of that ****.
Turris plays his first game as a Sen, at home, tomorrow! It would be awesome if he could get his first goal in his first game at home. His wrist shot is FILTHY.
I'm bored, so here's my current opinion of the NHL teams.
As I once mentioned, the Rangers are the only other team aside form the Blues that I'm actually a fan of. Other teams that interest me are the Senators, Ducks (hopefully they stop sucking at some point)... maybe the Lightning. I lost interest for the Flyers since Pronger is out for the season. Penguins... I don't know, I guess I've lost interest in them but I certainly don't hate them.
The only teams I for sure hate are the Blackhawks (of course), the Wild, Blue Jackets, Maple Leafs (I don't know why, I guess I just find them really boring), and the Bruins (f*** Boston).

I forgot to mention that I'll also root for any team that are facing the Hawks or the Wild.
And since I'm still bored I'm going to choose a team from each division to be the "favorite" for their division. Well Central and Atlantic are already established, I'll just move on to the other four.
NORTHWEST... Uh, Avalanche I guess. I have nothing against the Canucks though, so it's between those two. NORTHEAST... Senators. Out of the four remaining teams, I hate two of them and couldn't care less about the other two. PACIFIC... This one is a little difficult. I'mma say Ducks for now, but I can easily see the other teams gaining my favor instead. I already sorta like the Stars, the Kings are somewhat growing on me, and the Sharks have an awesome logo. The Coyotes... eh. SOUTHEAST... Lightning. I don't think I mind the Hurricanes either, but as of now I'm giving it to Tampa.

Redwingsfan06 posted... Turris is a little Prima Donna and if he doesn't change his "me first" attitude he is not going to last long in the league.
Turris doesn't have a 'me first' attitude and was well liked by everyone in Phoenix. He is far from a Prima Donna. Do you actually know anything about the situation?
Anyway...tonight is TURRIS TIME! Hope he does well, but considering that he missed out on most of the season and pre-season I don't expect anything from him. This year can be a wash for him, but I hope he'll surprise.
Haha, players and coaches certainly playing with the rivalry. Both sides sent the 4th line out for the opening faceoff, gloves were dropped as soon as the puck was. Janssen vs. Rupp.

From: ShadowHalo17 | #343 Ah. Was not aware of that.
Pronger is one of the most hated players in the league, by both fans and players. I like him because he played for the Ducks and helped us win a cup, but the majority of people can't stand him.

I'm sad I missed that. I just got home and started watching to find out that the Devils scored. BLEH. Hopefully Rangers can pull through tonight.
