To be honest, if there was one spot in the game where this move actually made sense for Brandon to do, this is it.
If it worked, it would have proved Coach's loyalty and locked up A/B/C as the Final Three (barring an Ozzy immunity run), and by making such a selfless move he all but assures himself the win.
If it failed (which it did), now all he has to do to get right back where he was is win one 1-on-1 duel, and by making such a selfless move he assures himself the win if he can get there. He'd have to keep winning to get there, but without Coach's loyalty (which this hypothetical says he doesn't have), he was gonna have to do that anyway.
I doubt that this was Brandon's strategic plan by making the move, but hey.

Yeah, I caught that Albert dismissively called Coach "the cult leader" at one point. Maybe everyone does consider him a joke but he's not being portrayed as such? Coach almost seems like the goat for everyone else...
To me is seems like the editing is giving us "the Coach show," when in reality someone like Sophie is really scheming a lot more than is being shown. Hence why Albert, people at Ponderosa, etc. all were kind of thinking Sophie is a big threat. Coach is being portrayed on TV as the leader, because that's what they really wanted out of this season, but in reality he's far less of a leader and a little more of a *nudge nudge wink wink* ok you're the leader Coach.
Which is not to say Coach hasn't been running the show with Upolu, it just might be under a bit of a different guise than we are being led to believe. And that's not to say I don't like Coach. Coach or Sophie for the win please!

This is why I like Sophie. I think she's exactly the type of player who will call Coach out at final tribal and be like "he wasn't the one actually doing anything. He was just a wingnut swingvote" except in a more eloquent way because that's what she does.
I think that Coach is absolutely the leader. Sophie is just really smart, and that is why people fear her. She also seems to be Coach's confidant, and therefore the most likely to get the "played the best game" vote next to coach. I think the reason these people think nobody will vote for Coach is because a) he has played before and b) he has pissed people off by being the leader of the cult
unfortunately I do not think these people saw last season, because Boston Rob managed to win despite those things.

I kind of believe Coach when he was talking to Ozzy about how if he got back in, they'd go together. I think there's a respect that's grown, plus they have already have the bond of being the two returning 'leaders.' It's stupid any time Ozzy or Coach get upset at being pointed at as the leader at tribal...I mean, thats why they were brought back and only them amongst 14 new people.
Lets say Ozzy beats Brandon, gets back in... He and Coach ally...I'm sure Coach wants Albert gone, but they need a third vote. I imagine if Ozzy gets in, he'll be the 'supposed' target as the outsider and jury threat. But Albert hates Sophie and probably Rick after blabbering about their talk, and knows he would have been gone if Brandon didn't save his ass. So Albert votes with Ozzy and Coach to keep his butt safe. They SHOULD vote out Sophie, but Coach may still be too loyal, so bye bye Rick.
Now at 4, they should still vote out Sophie, but she hates Albert and would probably vote him out to make the final 3, which is better than splitting a vote at 2 and drawing rocks. They'll play some silly endurance game, and whoever drops first between Coach and Sophie will go against Ozzy, because Ozzy just seems so unbeatable in challenges that I can't see him losing the last one.
I think most of the jury is bitter at Cochran. I know Jim said that "if the next person to come here is a savaii, coach just won this game" on the first ponderosa video....so I am guessing he, at least, plans on voting for whoever played the best game..which he thought to be coach at that time.

I think Ozzy comes back, is immediately voted out. then rick because there is NO WAY his edit makes F3. Albert probably gets MICK TRIMMING'd, but I am torn as to whether or not Coach can pull off a Boston Rob or get Russell'd.

Love to see all the Sophie support. She really seems like the kind of player that the editors are all "holy s*** she's gonna run away with this game and we need to f*** with the audience." Coach played an excellent game. Ozzy has redemption run and a favoratble jury... but Sophie should be the winner. She has impressed me in every aspect of the game and her off-camera gameplay has been as good as her editting, it's been a done deal. Coach and Ozzy are season highlights. They have to stay "in," Brandon is the season joke and will be played out as long as he can be. Rick is the wildcard. Savaii jury is played to support redemption Ozzy. Albert is Sophie's direct contrast and "finale obstacle."
I think she's been playing a hell of a lot harder than the editting has suggested and I think she's already secured her spot in the finals and is ready to seal the deal... If I end up being wrong, wishful thinking got the better of me :(

ya right you are case the sunglasses have 3d so i can see right threw their clothes -ertyu (about wearing sunglasses to stare at boobs without girls noticing)
I think Sophie has this, but I think Coach can get Cochran's vote. Cochran has a total ego, and gives Coach credit for flipping him (per ponderosa), and I feel like he is going to reward him for "outwitting" him. They also highlighted Coach and Cochran getting along, while showing Sophie saying mean things about Cochran in confessionals.

It's definitely possible. It's hard to gauge how much anyone made a connection with anyone else (unless it's Keith and Whitney LOL) with how little we actually see on TV. I certainly wouldn't be surprised to see Cochran vote for Coach. There really wasn't a whole lot of thought put into who votes who, other than the Savaii members not voting Coach!

He was on the failed "save the guy on the way out" scheme multiple times, which may have endeared him to say Edna, and Cochran on the way out and if even two or three former Savaii decide Albert deserves the win he could take it...given he makes FTC.

http://img.imgcake.com/nio/81edpngej.png edwardsdv and swordz9 are basically the comedy heel tag team of this topic, why would people be taking them seriously?
aww yeah, I'm caught up. only took a week. Way better season than the first redemption island. i'm hopin for a sophie, rick, and albert final But it will most likely be Ozzy, Coach and someone else.
Can't say I care about Survivor: China much anymore. Just finished episode 5, I'd rather see Fei Long dominate than have Aaron get screwed over because Jaime and Peih Gee are *****.
I'm usually just "Aw oh well it's only a game." But I honestly don't think I've ever disliked someone as much in Survivor than Jaime. I'm happy to see that Fei Long dominates in the end.
Anyways finale tomorrow, will be the first finale in a longggg time that I haven't been spoiled on. Looking forward to it!
You guys... every time you mention "feckless" I have to go look up that scene on youtube because Mick's response to it is priceless. Quit wasting my life, 23 seconds at a time!
