Wow, this is worse than the time they blew out the windows in that one town.

When did they blow out windows? That actually sounds worse because this is just one home that was damaged that they can probably easily pay to fix.

The occupants miraculously escaped injury.

They say like it would be more likely to hit someone than not.

That's where the projectile turned into a suburban pinball, bouncing off a sidewalk, blasting through a front door, barreling up some stairs and careening through a bedroom where a man, woman and child were reportedly sleeping.

The cannonball then punched through the home's exterior stucco wall, sailed across a six-lane thoroughfare, ricocheted off the roof of another home and finally crashed through the window of a parked, empty Toyota Sienna minivan, where it came to rest.

What the hell? How could it possibly have had enough momentum to do all of this?

When the rare event that a cannonball flies through your house DOES happen, it probably is a big deal that nobody got hurt.

I know I'm also suspicious on whether or not it is true.

When the rare event that a cannonball flies through your house DOES happen, it probably is a big deal that nobody got hurt.

But I'm saying even with five people in a two story house scattered randomly it is still rather unlikely that someone gets hurt.

Yeahh, I'm not sure why they're saying it was more likely than not that someone could've gotten hit. Now, it's more likely than not that the cannonball would've somehow harmed someone indirectly, whether it be via damaging a ceiling or house supports or something, but actually hitting seems fairly unlikely.

It went through a bedroom where three of them were reportedly sleeping.

That's what they mean by the "miraculous" part. Not that it went through the house, but that it went through a room with three people and nobody got hurt.

First, it's conjunction fallacy. You should at least get the phrase right.

Second, it doesn't really have anything to do with my post since I never said it was likely somebody WOULD get hurt. Just that people are gonna treat it as a big deal because of the situation in question.
