Akainu proved himself quite worthy after the war. Being great part of the plan to execute Ace before time, getting Squardo to go against Whitebeard, killing Ace, giving Whitebeard serious wounds before losing to him etc. He'd be the most fit. I guess it would be cool seeing Kong back in the position, especially as you can't ask for a better admiral trio than what we have.
As for Shichibukai, I'm in on the speculation about Buggy-sama being asked to be one in that letter, since they really do believe that he is a top pirate. It would be hillarious. I doubt that Bonney is one though, one of the Supernovas with the lowest bounty, they need better to stop the others in the New World. I hope that we'll get some characters we haven't seen before. It would be great if we could get more that seem pretty much unbeatable like Mihawk and Doflamingo.
But atm I really just wanted to know if Oda had confirmed that the positions are filled or if the government is still going on about it.

Coby is difinetely not an admiral. That wasn't what I meant. But I think he should've gained a better rank. Maybe Captain? I can see nothing higher than that, heck it's too much. Commander? That could be Tashigi now. Lieutenant seems like it. But Coby can surprise us, though still no higher than Captain.
I thought of Smoker, but I don't think so and the thought just passed me because an admiral spot should be open when one was made fleet-admiral and Smoker would fit based on his Logia powers, but it's too high. Vice-admiral? Then he'd have to master Haki though. Maybe he got promoted to Rear-admiral? That's just one rank higher so it'd make sense.

Ace didn't beat Smoker. Their abilitys were as equal as it gets. They even both noted how pointless the fight was.
Smoker didn't seem very affected by Hancocks beauty by first impression, just like Momonga. But that's probably by being a strong personality. Hancock was able to keep Smoker away from Luffy. However, Smoker probably got tons of training during the timeskip since he wanted to go to the New World, probably a lot more than Hancock, whether that means he's on her level or not.

Coby's got the Haki cheatery though. If Garp put him through harder training than Luffy went through over the past 2 years (which seems likely given how Garp is) I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility.
Still probably too early, but it'll definitely happen at some point before the end of the series.

Nah I think Momonga would have trouble with Hancock, he had to stab his hand to keep from turning to stone. Smoker with 2 years of training should be on Luffy's current level, but I don't know about him going around bossing pirates in the NW. Unless the NW is full of noobs that don't have haki!
Yeah but that could be the same case with Smoker. Cause just like him, Momonga showed no real signs of attaction before Hancock used her Mero Mero Mellow, which she didn't on Smoker, and even so Momonga was not attracted enough for him nott to think fast.

It makes me sad that MS can't keep up with weekly Ippo releases like they do with everything else. It's the most important series to me on there after One Piece!

Akainu's probably attracted like everyone else, but able to deflect it somehow, so it makes no difference, I kinda think they all are. Kizaru meeting Hancock would be awesome.

No way Coby's anywhere near admiral. I'll echo the vice admiral prediction for Smoker, though. I wouldn't be surprised if Garp was the new admiral (especially if Akainu is the new fleet admiral, as Garp would surely want to keep on eye on him).

Now I finally see at what point the manga did better than the anime during the war. Up until now the anime has made better flashbacks of Ace being born and added more battles as well as making some longer. But Whitebeards death! Was it too violent to air? Half his face was burned off after all. At least the manga was better there.
