I though you said Shiki was never mentioed in the manga. But he was when Sengoku talked about the only person to escape Impel Down. Before Luffy and co that is.

WB didn't seem like he was in good shape when he went to war! People didn't even know he was sick, yet he basically destroyed an island with 3 admirals and 2 old school legends on it.

The manga is definitely better.

Still you won't go wrong if you watch the anime.

The first arc is pretty horrible with filler and censoring and general "kiddifying."
After that though it's smooth sailing.

finally watched the Bleach Hell Arc movie

pretty good. Too bad they couldn't fit it into the series as canon

What I liked the most though was that the guy the movie's main villain was voiced by the guy who does Zoro

Oda just mentioned there was a big "event" within the marine during those 7 years and that it's something he'll tell when he gets to it

and it in fact might be next since Marineford was moved to the other side of the Red Line so should be right there when they pop up!

the main prediction going around is that while Sengoku nominated Aokiji, the "big event" that happened was Akainu forced his way into that position (perhaps through political maniupulation) and that it might have created a split in the Marines causing them to not be as united as they used to be

Two Year Time Skip

After the battle at Marineford, the new Fleet Admiral decided to change the location of the Marine HQ with the G-1 branch, which is in the New World, directly challenging the power of the Yonko. The old Marineford has been rebuilt, with a prominent G-1 painted on the side of the building.


I would assume G-1 is the first Marine stronghold of the new world

of course it could be the last I suppose if they count backwards and be closer to Raftel, but I doubt it.
