Already got it, based on the demo I'd recommend at least trying it to pretty much anyone.
I really can't imagine not being satisfied with this purchase once I finally have time to play it.

Bastion has crazy weapon variety, a bunch of different passive effects to put on your character, and lets you tweak the difficulty in very cool ways. I'd say it was the exact opposite of repetitive.
It's pretty fantastic. Could have been better, I think, but still great.
The repetition lies in the level design and enemy design. The level design purely aesthetic. Enemy design is very simple throughout, with just a few quirky projectile based enemies in the second half of the game. The game's gameplay systems and mechanics are just fine though. Plenty of unique weapons and upgrade methods.

on my 2nd playthrough, I didn't use the weapons they gave to me at all though! they are slightly designed as light tutorials, but once you go through for the 2nd time, theres no need to use them at all.

omg did u red text from last night dats so me LMAO : ) im not a slut i jus liek 2 haev fun LOL : )
For the most part, most new weapons didn't feel right to me, so I kept using the ones I was more comfortable with (and had powered up). At that point, the game became little more than a series of shooting galleries. Just keep following the path and shooting/stabbing everything. The gameplay never really evolved, there weren't any decent puzzles, and I just wasn't invested in the story enough to keep wanting to play. For all the acclaim the game got, I was awfully disappointed in it.
The story isn't a strong part, though the world itself has a lot of cool backstory. The "Who Knows Wheres" have pretty cool backstory especially. I have no idea why you are complaining about the lack of decent puzzles, the game was never meant to have puzzles, and they probably would have felt out of place.
It sounds mostly like you just happened to stick to the same weapons (which was the whole point of the levels being good for the weapons you pick up, so you have to try them all), which is kind of your own fault, the weapons are varied enough where I'm kinda shocked you couldn't find more you were "comfortable" with.

I was planning on waiting until the Christmas sale to pick this up, but then this went and happened. >_> Wonder if it'll be any cheaper later on... might just get it now.
Five days without power and this is the first topic I see.
Must be fate.
