People seriously don't think Banjo-Kazooie is Rare's best game?

It's a top 5 platformer too, but a couple of the more pureblood platformers beat it out in that regard. Super Mario World and Super Mario Galaxy for instance, possibly Sonic 3 + Knuckles.

Honestly, "Rare's best game" being something other than Goldeneye strikes me as kinda hipster, and this is coming from someone who prefers platformers to FPSs! Guess I'm not seeing the DKC love.

It's cool but there's way too many annoying parts, especially some of the purple coin stars.

Nobody makes you do the purple coin stars if you don't enjoy them. Complaining about optional stuff is pretty silly IMO.

perfect dark improved on goldeneye in virtually every way, it just didn't have the james bond license behind it

I think people like Goldeneye more than Perfect Dark. Could be wrong though.

Goldeneye is probably their most important game. It's hard to say if it's the best, it's been kind of outdated by more modern shooters, like Timesplitters 2 and 3 for instance which are similar games but do everything better. DKC at least is something that probably won't suffer the same fate.

Goldeneye is more popular than Perfect Dark, definitely.

goldeneye is more popular but I wouldn't say more well liked, I haven't seen very many people that actually prefer goldeneye, just more that have played it.

my circle of friends prefers Goldeneye! it seems to perform competently where PD seems to barely chug along, like the N64 is on it's last breath and can't take much more of this.

Goldeneye is more popular than Perfect Dark, but most people that play both prefer Perfect Dark

SMG2, SMB3, and SMW vs Sonic 1, 2, and 3&K. close but Sonic is better there.

Perfect Dark has a lot of problems that keep me from considering it even as good as GoldenEye. That stupid vision blur **** from unarmed strikes is not the least of them. And while it HAS bots which should be a positive thing vs not having them, the bots are just about the worst thing about the game. And the controls for alt fire are just the worst, I'd prefer the guns not even have alt fire than that stupid "hold a button" thing.

vision blur was annoying, but given the general ineffectiveness of unarmed combat, that's a pretty ridiculous complaint.

Unarmed alt fire was pretty good, disarming people and blurring their vision in one shot, then killing them while they tried to find you and when they respawn they still have vision blur.

It was more bots that did this but god DAMN was it annoying.

What was wrong with the PD bots? My friends and I dismissed them early as way too good and not fun to play against, but we're not too good at FPS games so I'm curious why you dislike them.

I used to play perfect and dark sims constantly and rarely had this happen, the hitbox is terrible and it's a game where a lot of guns can one hit kill with headshots. the grenade would be more annoying but the weapon sets are fully customizable so no problem if you don't like a few of the weapons, plenty of good ones to choose from
