Probably take out Portal 2 as well. Spike fans love their 360 games and their shooters. Portal 2 and Uncharted 3 fail one or both of these requirements.
Batman is awesome enough to overcome its lack of gunplay, however.

Yes they are bad. But I have nothing better to do so here we go. What I think they will nominate does not reflect my opinion. As well I'm not predicting all of the categories only ones I think are the easiest.
Game of the Year:
Lets start with the big one.
Nominee's:
Batman: Arkham City Gears of War 3 Portal 2 The Elder Scroll's V: Skyrim Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception
These picks seems most likely with Battlefield 3 not as good as it was supposed to be and Modern Warfare 3 having a good chance of being the same, these seemed like the most likely picks. Batman is currently the highest rated game this year and is on the two consoles Spike loves the most (They NEVER nominate Nintendo games or PC exclusives). Next is Gears of War 3 which has had great reviews and is pretty much the multiplayer game of the year and they always have that kind of game nominated. Following it is Portal 2 which is the second highest rated game this year and did win most anticipated game last year. After that is the mighty Skyrim. Oblivion Won back in 2006, and this seems like it's going to be even better. Also to say this game is highly anticipated would be an understatement. Finally Uncharted 3 which (besides Eurogamer and g4) has had amazing reviews everywhere including Gametrailers (Which is a sort of partner to spike) it seems to be a shoe in. Plus Uncharted 2 won GOTY in 2009.
Overall I think Batman but it is very close.
There are certain games I would like to see nominated but my opinion is moot here.
I let this thread purge for a bit and add some more tomorrow. That or I'll forget and this thread burn in a fire or something. There is also a chance that this thread will not be successful because nobody cares. Heven forbid, no one cares about the VGA's on Gamefaqs.
In all seriousness if I do remember, tomorrow you will see Best Xbox 360 game, PS3 game, Wii game, and PC game.
MW3 is always a shoe-in to make the final group. It will probably win too, based on Spike being as fratboyish as they come. Uncharted and/or Portal 2 would be booted for being the weakest games on that list (or they might just add another game instead of taking one out), and Uncharted isn't as popular as Portal.

2003: Madden NFL 2004(lol) 2004: Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas 2005: Resident Evil 4 2006: The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion 2007: BioShock 2008: Grand Theft Auto IV 2009: Uncharted 2: Among Thieves 2010: Red Dead Redemption
Since there is no Rockstar game this year, based on previous results, I'd say Uncharted 3 and Skyrim have the best shot at winning. Batman: Arkham City being a darkhorse.
Well, I purposely ignored mentioning that. L.A Noire just isn't the same quality as RDR, or GTA games. Plus it didn't have the same critical success as those games, and for the most part, looking at those past winners, most of them have a score higher than 90%.

Noire's sure better than GTA IV!

I'm positive the top 3 will all be nominee's however the 4th nominee is the toughest. I' couldn't tell you which of those three it'll be but one of them is for sure. Dark Souls is more of a PS3 game (and sales have proven that) with both U3 and LBP2 and Dark Souls for that matter are highly rated enough to be nominee's. With Uncharted 3 being the hightest rated game of the nominee's it's most likely going to win.
Next Xbox 360.
Nominee's: Batman: Arkham City Dead Space 2 Gears of War 3 L.A. Noire
Winner: Gears of War 3
With 360 this year, only Gears is worth mentioning as an excusive. Batman WILL be nominated for a console so with the lack of 360 excusives it seems more likely to be nominated for 360. With L.A. Noire, being nominated for 360 makes sense because RDR was nominated for a console last year because of a lack of exclusive (PS3) though it wasn't as highly rated as RDR but I still think being nominated is likely. It should be noted that COD and Battlefield games have never been nominated for a console in all of the VGA years which is why I don't think it will be. Gears 3 will won becaus it's exclusive. No other reason. They have done it before, they'll do it again.
PC.
Nominee's: Deus Ex: Human Revolution Portal 2 The Elder Scroll's V: Skyrim The Witcher 2: Assassin's of Kings
Winner: Portal 2 or The Elder Scroll's V: Skyrim
With PC nominating mostly multiplatform games that are more known on PC or have advantages on PC. The top 3 nominee's all show this. Follwoing that is the most popular exclusive this year The Witcher 2 wich will most likely be nominated.
Finally Wii.
Nominee's:
Mario Sports Mix Kirby Returns to Dreamland Rayman Origins The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
Winner: The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword
Zelda will obviously be nominated and kirby and Mario will be nominated for the sake of it. And Rayman because it won't be nominated on any other console. Zelda Obviously wins.
Tonight will be Action/Adventure, Shooter, and RPG.
