A little snow in October and it everything goes crazy, I didn't have power for about 8 hours last night, not too bad.

Well at least here it wasn't a LITTLE snow, it was between 1 and 2 feet. But hey, last winter we had way more than that and it was never a problem! But I guess because most of the trees still had leaves on, way more came down than usual, so there were more power outages than you'd normally expect. I'm just hoping that this snowfall took out most of the trees that were likely to come down, so we wont have to worry about many coming down for the rest of the season.

Worst part for me? I figured good blizzard prep involved stocking up on food, so I had just filled up the fridge. So that's all garbage now.

That's harsh, poor food. Yeah I've never seen so many trees on the streets, was driving home from a Halloween party and they were everywhere, also saw a power line go down made a huge spark.

I got lucky. I was hit with rain while seemingly all the big metropolitan areas around me had snow and power outages.

NatGrid estimates we won't get power back until Friday. just looking at stuff on my phone while I charge in the car while waiting 30 minutes for the one gas station in the county feels like a blessing.

On Saturday night our power went out around 12:30am and was out until at least 2:30 when I fell asleep, but was back on by the time I woke up, so I got pretty lucky.

No heat is terrible. Food is easily manageable, but the heat is killer.

Psh, hurricanes can mean no power for a week or two.

Of course, we don't have problems with cold weather in south florida, so it's not that bad.

All this has convinced me that when I get a house, I need to get solar panels installed on the roof. Doesn't matter to me how much they cost, I don't wanna deal with this crap again.

And damn neon, Friday really? Hope they get you going sooner than that, taking care of a baby without power is no fun at all.
