I've heard some ICP songs and they were pretty funny... nothing to base lifestyle choices on but good for a bunch of chuckles and a few laughs. I'm 28 though so I'd be way too old to be a juggalo even if I was immature and socially stunted enough to find that image appealing...

That's the problem. The current "juggalos" take them very seriously. I got into ICP for the comedy and stayed when I realized they were a reverse-psychology religious act. Unfortunately, most of the people who got into them are too f***ing stupid and blazed out of their minds to get anything meaningful out of it. They just became clowns themselves.

Isn't it possible to take a middle ground position.

I like ICP. I've listened to them for years, I enjoy their music, I kinda dig the image. I've never considered myself a "juggalo" really because I'm not even sure what that means. I'm not sure anybody does. Even before "Thy Unveiling" they never really defined it. There were never ten juggalo commandments.

I don't dismiss them as a comedy act, nor do I "take them seriously" for whatever the hell that means. I listen to them, I like what I hear, and overall, it seems that despite their lyrics, they've always had pretty positive intentions. I mean, they've written many songs specifically targeted to angsty teens basically saying, "Don't kill yourself, even if society rejects you, there's always a place and a plan for you." Overall, that's pretty good, isn't it? It's more than a lot of musical acts do, isn't it?

Meh, whatever. I'll get off my soapbox now.

That was a good read actually, GuiGa. If they are truly as religious as they say they are in that interview, than they truly deserve all the hate they get. I've never seen ignorance of that level before. On the other hand, they could really be anti-religion and this whole thing could be just for the sake of making religious people look like complete f***ing morons. I dunno. In all fairness, the only ICP song I've actually heard was the ****ing magnets song. If that's comparable in quality to the rest of their work, though, I'm not inclined to check out more of their stuff!
