Sony servers are gonna die November 1st. don't think they allow for crossplatform game right now. would be nice if that happened, but i doubt it.
this makes my question of which online game should i play even more difficult. City of Heroes? Diablo 2? DC Universe? and nevermind everything upcoming.

it's free to download is the problem for that. they'll be hit by it on both PC and PS3's ends of people downloading a 10GB game on the same day as people will rabidly play one of their biggest games of the year online.

The main issue is how ****ing awful it runs on the PS3.
It wouldn't be fair.
Also the game feels awful unless you're using a controller.
It's got no real endgame to speak of, and caps at Lv. 40.
For like...an hour, it's gonna seem pretty great. But then...ugh.
Downloading it to dick around in the character creator seems like a good idea, though. I already have both PS3 and PC version (No PC when it came out, moronically bought it for $20 during a Steam sale later), so...maybe one day...
For as mediocre as it is, DCUO is a fairly tight, straightforward experience, with clear goals and options. CoH always struck me as...dumping you in the middle of the city and not telling you jack ****. I've barely seen it, though. As for why it feels bad with a keyboard, the game was made for the PS3, it was ported to PC.
....Which makes how awful it runs on the PS3 even worse.
From: saveus_Maria | #016 well at least this topic helped me decide which platform to download it on
The absolute best option is the PC with a PS3 controller. I don't know if that will still allow you to type on the keyboard, I don't see why it wouldn't.
well i'd get it for PC anyway because i don't have or want a ps3 until it's more hacked than the psp and costs as much as one too.
i've got a couple controllers though. 360 controller, FF14 controller which also doubles as a PS3 controller strangely and was quite cheap. i'll try on both.

It does, well at least it did.

yeah, note the 'coming soon' in the corner there. but it's worth noting that yes, free version is gimped from the full one that paying gets you. of course if you're just trying to dick around for a while to get a feel for the game, who cares.

Jumping into City of Heroes now is better than ever. They have loads of tutorial stuff now. (And they had plenty before, so I have no idea what ltm is talking about) CoH has loads of content, creative stories, and plenty of end game stuff to keep you busy. (if you pay, at least.)

Xbox GT: PrivateBiscuit1 Down with Zhang. Let there be Biscuit!
augh there are so few types of powers and the worst is that the closest to what I wanted would be Fire which I know EVERYONE in the game is going to have

I haven't checked it out in a while but I would think about half the playerbase would be running around as Green/Yellow Lanterns by now.
You still have to buy DLC to be a Green Lantern, don't you? I'd play if that was included, but if I can't join the Corps from the off I dunno if I can even be bothered to try it for free, let alone pay money.
