I just played the new demo for it. It was not fun at all. It's supposed to be a platformer, but it felt like the platforming just got in the way of playing.

Played the Generations demo levels a few times yesterday. I liked what I played enough to consider buying the game, but there's no way I'd pay more than $20 for it. Let's see how long it takes the price to drop.

Genesis Sonic games are awesome.

Sonic Colors and Sonic Generations are more like Genesis Sonic games so they will probably be awesome, too.

Yeah the genesis levels in the demo were a complete f***ing mess. I couldn't even tell what was going on whenever Sonic started running fast.

GHZ is too busy for Classic Sonic. Its also too boring of a f***ing level

but I've seen many of the later levels, and they look to be fantastic, for both Modern and Classic.

Hey I played the s*** out of the old genesis games. The new game is virtually unplayable because of how much blur they added when Sonic is running. It's ridiculous and if you think otherwise then I'm sorry that you're so biased toward Sonic.

I have 20/15 vision and I played it on the HD screens at Best Buy. I'm not saying it wasn't pretty when he was standing still but it was such a mess whenever he started running. (The running is pretty important for Sonic btw)

I truly feel that Generations will be between Sonic 2 and Sonic 3 and Knux. I would really love it if it meets all hype and surpasses Sonic Adventure 2. I'm hoping.

I was going to respond but I realized it was LtM..

And I'm saying that I've got the demo booted up right now with no such problems at all, and have played through it many times.

Maybe the demo television at Best Buy was bad, definitely a possibility.

Someone explain all this SA2 love to me. I played it years before I played any other Sonic game, and even without being able to make the comparison to the rest of the series, I thought it was mediocre at best.

Sonic Colors rendered Sonic Adventure 2 unplayable for me, to be honest. In fact, I'd probably put Unleashed over Adventure 2. Sure, the werehog was pretty lame, but so was the treasure hunting and shooting from A2, and I'd take Unleashed's day stages over Adventure 2's Sonic and Shadow levels any day of the week.

I'm hoping some day Knuckles and Tails become playable characters again, but use the exact same physics as Sonic, just with their own unique powers. You know, like the Genesis days.

Someone explain all this SA2 love to me. I played it years before I played any other Sonic game, and even without being able to make the comparison to the rest of the series, I thought it was mediocre at best.

I can't explain it, never have been able to. Objectively, I can think of plenty wrong with the game (bad camera, a lot of identical boss fights on Hero and Dark, weird difficulty curve, cheap enemy placement once you get to ark, weird voiceacting overlays).

And if I'm being an honest reviewer, probably giving the game a 7.5 or an 8. And this next part goes against everything I usually rank games on. The reason I have OoT #1 all time, is quite frankly yes it is a fun experience, but for it's time, it is just the best designed game ever, nothing is close. I have more actual fun with FF IX, SMRPG, and Pokemon RBY then I do with OoT. Same reason I have FF VII above FF IX, even though IX is a more fun experience, objectively, FF VII is just a better game. I kinda throw that out the window with SA 2. The game is just ridiculously fun for me, I probably 100% it ever 4-6 months, just to do it again, and once I start, I seriously can't stop.

I love the powerups (something no other Sonic game has done right, or done like SA2) I love 25 of the 30 main levels, like 3 more, and only hate 2 (Knux and Rouges Arc levels can die), I really love the story, even though I have seen them a thousand times, I never skip the cutscenes. It has among the best music in the series, and without much debate, has by far the best final story in the series. (Great mixed level, and then SS and SS vs Final Hazard) And this topic can't end without giving love to the Chao, such a huge time sucker those were, but I loved leveling them up, training, then racing and fighting with them. Also awesome it created 2 different gardens depending on your Chao.

Just for you, Pun, I booted up the demo to check. And yes, you can still start spinning while running. Of course, if you don't like it, just don't press that button while running. I didn't even realize you could do this until you mentioned it.
