I thought these were movies about street racing and the culture. This movie is basically Die Hard meets Lupin the 3rd. It was ridiculous. I had fun with it but I wanted to see fast cars, not giant hangs shooting each other up with machineguns.

Watch the original?

So anytime someone doesn't get what they want/expected out of a movie, they should just be quiet and watch another movie?

For someone who complains a lot about movies, that seems like a pretty lame solution.

I was trying to come up with a solution that didn't involve saying that some movies are just bad.

Fast Five is actually the best reviewed movie in the series. By a decent margin, too.

This movie is basically Die Hard meets Lupin the 3rd

I'm pretty sure this may be the greatest combination of all time

Fast Five is the start of a new angle for the series. They're turning it into heist movies involving cars, now.

And it works. I liked the first movie, but the rest weren't so crash hot. Fast Five was pretty awesome, though.

Get some reading comprehension, Ingmar Bergman. I said it's a good movie. I seriously was getting major Lupin the 3rd flashbacks during the third act. I actually looked up the Rio episode to see if it was the exact same plot.

What IS lame is how they keep bringing people back. The Asian guy dies in Tokyo Drift, but people liked him so they just decided to claim that that movie takes place later in the timeline. Yeah. And now they're gonna bring back Michelle Rodriguez too. Just like... Nope, she wasn't actually dead!

To be fair, they're bringing back Michelle Rodriguez in the newest Resident Evil.

So when you called it "ridiculous" that was meant to be interpreted as "good."

How would you describe the action in this flick? I describe it as "ridiculous."

They've actually had the timeline planned out from the very beginning. Tokyo Drift was always meant to be the last movie.

uh...it stopped being about street racing culture by 2 fast 2 furious.

Well i take that back, Tokyo Drift was kinda about street racing culture.

But 3/5 movies arent about street racing in the slightest.

Yeah. Paul Walker mentioned it in an interview before Tokyo Drift came out, talking about how he wasn't in it but they had other movies planned, etc., and that they just changed the order of release because of the drift craze at the time.

EDIT: Actually, I think it was more... They had everything planned BUT Tokyo Drift at the time, and then Tokyo Drift just sorta... Happened, and they figured they'd just tack it on as the last movie in the timeline.

Tokyo Drift is basically the red-headed step-child.

i doubt they had it "planned out" to be this way, but its the best way to keep han's character in the series.

But yes, the order of the series is 1 --> 2 --> 4 --> 5 --> 3. They are making a 6th one to take place after 3, i have no idea if Han's character will be in it...or if they can even retcon him in the series.

Die Hard and Lupin is a pretty awesome mix!

I loved Fast 5, really entertaining popcorn flick that was just pretty glorious. The original is my second fav in the series, its the best damn remake of Point Break out there.
