I decided to text 15 people I know with the same message several hours ago and document their responses here. Specifically, this test targets the awareness and excitement levels for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, two "RPGs" in at least some definitions that, although quite different, will being vying for at least a somewhat shared pool of wallets in a few short weeks. The purpose behind the test is to gauge the hype !! factor behind these two anticipated titles.
These 15 individuals are rather varied. Some love RPGs; some don't. Some love Nintendo; some don't. Some love single-player; some don't. Some love turkey; some are stupid. The one thing they share in common with one-another is a love of gaming. I'm going to mask their identities for obvious reasons. The folks who know me around here typically find me rather trustworthy but if you don't believe this is legit then that's your own silly fault so just ignore it.
Mass-spammed text: "Two games with 'sky' in their titles in just a few short weeks. I wonder if the industry's trying to buy us by promising a breath of fresh air. What do you think?

Answer #8: (Kiriaardvark) "Skyrim has to be good since my guild won't shut up about it. Plus I loved Fallout so there's that. Skyward Sword might be OK but I never go near the Wii anymore lolol"

In conclusion, nothing too surprising. A bit startled at the number of people who didn't even know Skyward Sword existed but a couple of them were the opposite about things. Skyrim took the lead and will certainly do so with sales as well. I also learned that a few of these people are idiots.
So what do you think, forumites? Which game is grabbing you more? Or do neither matter much to you? Predictions for this crazy holiday season?
