My first question is who ever loves res 4 have u been a long time fan, and have played 1,2 and 3? Or was 4 the first one u played? I just don't get it. They got rid of everything that resident evil was. It was scary, there was zombies and there were actual puzzles that made u have to think. Not only that but the game never held your hand and by that I mean u had to figure things out and places to go by your self. Don't get me wrong I thought 4 was ok and I really liked 5 cause I'm a Chris and Jill fan but still both 4 and 5 was the worst of the series. Why does everyone thing 4 is soooo good?

first i played was RE1 on some canada day (prob 99) Then I got RE3 for my birthday then i rented re2, then bought it at a pawn shop. Then got re4, and was amazed at how good it was, but unlike other RE's it was.
It's not "classic" RE. But it is a much better overall game than anything else in the series, and I love them all. RE4 just outclasses them all. More or less the perfect game.
I don't get the "4 sucks because it's not like RE1, 2 and 3" criticisms, personally.

yeah this pretty much.
I'm one of the biggest survival horror fans on this board (you all know who is the biggest!), and while RE4 was a completely different game and is not even close to the survival horror genre outside of the first, 20ish minutes of the game, it was still an amazing game.

Some people really don't have a grasp of what horror is. RE1-3CV gave you ****ty tank controls, limited saves, 10 bullets every 2 hours and just general cheapness. That was in its favor though, it created a much bigger sense of tension and uneasiness. You take away all that and what do you get? You get RE4. An action game.

I dunno, those regenerators made me **** my pants pretty hard. and the first time i played through the game and had the chainsaw guy come at me in the village....augh
I cannot deal with horror at all and I love RE4. The only parts I found spooky at all were the monks' chanting and oven man. The invisible bugs and the village are both scary at first but quickly lose the tension they once had.
